Stopped here while on a trip thru upstate New York. The Place has good reviews so we decided to stop in. The place was packed with people which was a good sign. So much so that we had to stand and wait for a good thirty minutes just to get seated. Which was some what forgivable seeing how busy they were. After ordering our food though, it took about an hour or more before we actually got our food. I ordered the Place Chicken Parm. Which I expected to be good, since it seemed like a restaurant specialty. Unfortunately I was rather disappointed. The sauce had a good flavor, which I enjoyed. Sadly though, the sauce was way too watery. This in turn made the chicken soggy. The noodles where probably the best part of the dish. They tasted good and were cooked perfectly. As for the chicken it was a decent size, but tasted bland, like it lacked seasoning. Overall I was disappointed with my meal here.

This small American Italian restaurant has been in my family for over 20 years! The Owner Amy Fox is the most hard working women I have ever met! She works day in and day out to prep the food from scratch all by herself. She puts her heart and soul in to ever dish that leaves that kitchen on a daily basis, with a cooking staff of only three people. Yes mistakes happen and things get backed up but Amy will do everything in her power to make sure you enjoy your time at our little Place in the Adirondack Park. So stop on in to give it a try and say Hi to Amy!

Very busy, but still incredibly slow even making allowances. Pasta sauce very tasty but really, really runny & way too much of it. More sauce than pasta. Mussels good but many shells broken & pieces of shells hard to find in pasta. Clam chowder was great. Really loud, hard to have a conversation. Not recommended.

The Place is one of my favorite places, actually favorite restaurant not just when we are here on vacation. This true of all restaurants I have eaten at anywhere. We always look forward to several meals. The food is consistently delicious. The marinara sauce is amazing. What am I saying, everything we have there is amazing! Amy and her family are incredibly hard working, yet they do everything with exceptional kindness and a smile. My entire family feels the same way.

Thank you for all you do Amy and family, especially now during this difficult period to make your delicious food available during these very trying time of covid. You make an incredible difference to so many people's spirits. It's something something very happy for all of us, Alan, Ben, Rachel, and myself to look forward to.

This is true not only for all of us, but for the many friends that we have up here. We all feel the same. We've been coming since the kids were little. And now they are adults. They all continue to joining us on vacation, including Ben's wife now that he is married, My family continues to think of The Place as a highlight.

May the year be a healthy one for all of you and a safe one. And next year, may we be able to join you inside again your wonderful restaurant once the pandemic has lifted. May your business prosper, at least enough to get you through to better times. If possible I'd give ten stars!

Thank you, Joan Sacks speaking on behalf...

Overall, the food was excellent, and any lover of Italian food would certainly appreciate the quality and taste of the meals that we ordered. My manicotti dinner was served piping hot, with plenty of cheese and sauce. The New England clam chowder was thick and tasty, with a hint of bacon. Everyone in our party of 5 had very positive feedback on the taste and quality of their food. My only gripes (and reasons for 4 stars instead of 5) were: the service was inconsistent, with the bread and butter taking 20 minutes to get to the table, but then the main courses came too fast, while people were still eating their soups and salads. The baked potato that was supposed to come with one of the meals came 10 minutes later. There were no free refills on soft drinks, which is a typical amenity for customers at a restaurant in this price range. Finally, there were 2 or 3 flies that were buzzing around our table all evening (indoors). While I realize that this is largely out of the control of the staff, it nonetheless gives the impression of an unsanitary environment and it's very annoying when you're trying to eat and chat with each other. My gripes aside, I think we will be back again, given the quality...

When we're in Schroon Lake this is a restaurant that we like to visit. The Place is consistently has very good food & service. We visited here Fri 7/01/22 5:30pm. Many Italian choices & steak are on the menu. You can have "La Parmigiana" eight different ways ($14-21). And there are always clams, mussels, & shrimp dishes available. We like to sit at the bar side. The bartender is always friendly and has a running, entertaining commentary with the regulars. We ordered our drinks while looked over the menu. My bride had the chicken parmigiana w/o pasta and extra broccoli ($22). I had the mussels marinara fra diavolo w/ linguine ($16). All meals are served w/ warm Italian bread made in-house. Not a broad menu but something for everyone and is consistently hot & tasty. Total for 5 drinks & two dinners w/tax $85.60. Hours: Closed Sun, Tue, Wed. Open Thu, Fri, Sat, & Mon 4:30-9pm We like the food , service, & atmosphere here and will see you again soon. Thank you. Nick &...
