Tom Dooley Apple Orchard — Restaurant in Town of Chester

Cider 5/5 some of my personal favorite Bakery 4/5 some very outstanding items, some that are okay. Nothing that was bad, just personal preference. I don't like things that are way to sweet, but they have a nice range including some sugar free. Customer Service 1/5 the women who run it had always been very nice to me up until the point they made a mistake. When talking to the first woman, not the owner, she admitted that she made a mistake, someone who double checked it did as well, and then at checkout someone was supposed to go over the order with me again. She admitted to 3 mistakes on their part. Excellent for taking responsibility there. But things devolved from there. When explaining what had happened, she didn't listen to me, started to contradict with what I had seen with my own eyes, and indirectly called me a liar. The exchange got tense and decided I wanted to talk to the owner. When the owner called back she was not nice. Her tone again was hostel and confrontational. Then proceeded to tell me that it was a "small issue." Sorry but how you treat your customers is NOT a small issue.

There are many other orchards that have treated me much better and plenty of other orchards out there. Also plenty that are much closer to me. If they don't honestly value my money and patronage I will gladly take it to other businesses that will. This was my fourth year as a customer and first time I had an issue. But the first time I was not treated with respect and dignity is also my last day...

I would have done 3 stars but the baked goods were pretty good but I am disappointed about the information that they gave out. I will make a disclaimer I am not apple expert but I went with my sister yesterday to see what the orchard was all about and the chart they have in regards to what is good for what and when and I wanted to try something different so I picked up a bag of jonagold apples. It’s funny that it says these apples are good for pies which is 100% completely false. I made the entire bag for apple crisp and it was nothing but mush. It’s just funny they claim this specific type of apple is good for pies because you bake pies so accurate information would have been appreciated. Otherwise a cute little orchard and fantastic...

I've come here for years and have enjoyed the baked goods, however...2 weeks ago I placed an order that my husband picked up, not knowing what had been ordered he just paid for it and came home. They had made a mistake and gave us 24 donuts instead 2 with order. I immediately called and told them, they said I could not bring them back as they had left store ( understandable), I told them I'd take them to church they said that was a good idea and that I'd receive a credit on next visit. I called 2 weeks later and was told to bring in the donuts and get what I wanted. Who would have 2 week old donuts?!!!
