Food was served within twenty minutes, that's okay because we had some things to discuss with everyone first, we had less than two hours to eat and have our meeting completed. Soda was extra, outside of the food, at $8 per pitcher. Not all the food was consumed in time and we never were asked about having the opportunity to take home leftovers that were in the food trays that we had paid for. The two servers were wonderful and very nice to deal with so that was a pleasure. I will say that the several times I spoke to the Manager, all I remember mostly from him was his complaining to me about not having the staff available to handle this dinner of up to 33 people, especially on the July 4th weekend, this dinner was on June 30th, a rehearsal dinner. We went with the Spinning wheel because we were familiar with it and liked the food, We liked the venue and we were able to book out within 6 weeks notice because our previous venue screwed us over (that was Spaghetti Warehouse). Overall it was a decent venue and we appreciate the efforts. I still recommend this venue...
Read moreUntil they closed in 2018, our union held a highly anticipated annual clam bake at Hinerwadel's in North Syracuse. The venue for that joyous gathering has been moved to the Spinning Wheel which did not disappoint. Like Hinerwadel's, their clambake includes an abundance of food to choose from in addition to the bountiful baked clams with melted butter dipping sauce. This included salads, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, barbecue pulled pork, delicious meatballs in marinara sauce, roast beef sandwiches with horseradish sauce, and for dessert, the best mixed berry crumble I've ever encountered. We were lucky to have our event on a beautiful day at the end of September when the shaded outdoor tables proved very popular. The Spinning Wheel restaurant and bar is located in a smaller building, adjacent to the event center, where you can get a dozen steamed clams for $10 (in 2024) as well as sports-bar menu items. This seems to be a gathering place for fans of the Las Vegas Raiders football team. Go...
Read moreDrove 20 minutes to restaurant at 6:30pm Friday night. They had none of the specials that is served Friday only left. The new England clam chowder was gone and the Mac n cheese dinner was all gone.they should learn to make more of both since they are only served on Friday. Three other groups came in afterwards and I heard them wanting same thing. Poor customer service. I got a cup of Chilli that tasted burnt and salty. More like sloppy Joe in a can. Chicken Parmigiano was watery pasta and sauce and chicken tasted like a sponge and rubbery. The water was good and the butter for the bread. They made us sit in the loud bar area because they had a small party of 15 taking up the dinner area.about 20 tables with no one using them. Had to yell at my husband because the bar customers were so loud. You get huge portions but of...
