Docks Grill At Pirates Cove Marina — Restaurant in Town of Clay

It’s evident that the restaurant part of this place is not their top priority. The bar business seemed to be going well. But the food gets a big thumbs down from my family. First of all, don’t be fooled by the early bird specials advertised on line. They no longer have that. Second, they got one order completely wrong, and mixed up the sides in the others. What a mess. Basically, the food sucks. Fish should be light and flaky. Not black (fried) and dry (broiled). Cole slaw has vinegar in it and nothing else. Awful! The fries are tasteless. It was a huge disappointment for all of us. If I could give a negative star, I would. None of this was the fault of the waitress but that girl needs to speak up a little. I do not have a hearing problem but I could barely hear anything she said. She could only be bothered to bring one menu to the table initially but finally figured that out and brought more. The menus are ripped and falling apart. All in all, we tried something different, found out it sucked, and crossed it...

I thought long and hard before I wrote this review. I come from a thick background with customer service, serving and have served at management levels at said positions. If the customer isn't happy, you make them happy. Rule #1. Reviews and ratings are everything.

When my father told the bartender the wings were overcooked. She offered to remake them. He refused because it took forever to get the food.

The owner came to the bar, and asked what was wrong with the meal. Dad's response was he has been in there before, and had been happy. This time his wings were overcooked. She responded with how well trained her staff was because she ran the kitchen. Food still sucked. Then she commented that "it must be us, because she has a full bar and out of 250 we were the only ones to complain." No problem.

So no. I do not think I will go back. But I won't recommend it to anyone I know. I say push on friends, there are people that are pleased to please their customers. That...

Had our first visit to Dock's Grill today with my daughter and 2 grandsons. We had a beautiful area on the deck to enjoy the views and the food! The owner, Debbie greeting us with smile and seated us right away! She told us about the specials and answered any questions we had! Now about the food...My daughter and I both had the Bacon Blue Burger that was cooked just as we requested..she had a salad as her side which had very fresh ingredients and a homemade dressing that she raved about! I had the mac/tuna salad which was very good! One grandson got the Hair of the dog Burger and the other one got the (oops I can't remember) both with fries! The burgers and the sides were incredible!
