NOBODY WOULD SERVE US: I liked the atmosphere and my wife and I sat at the bar, where four staff ignored us. It was a really light time with no more than six people in the place total. Nobody took a drink order, offered us a menu, nor made eye contact with us for 20 minutes. several times, team members were within arm’s length of us but no eye contact. One by one they left and suddenky nobody was behind the bar at all
so we left unserved and unrecognized. We oassed 3 of them having a smoke outside amd no one recognized us in any way.
one bartender seemed sort of too cool and stuck on himself. i remember being at cranberry a year ago and joe cool was there then too and just like that. He’s mastered the art of not seeing you so he doesn't have to help you. Last year it was impossible to get a second drink from him and he seemed hassled when serving you. don’t dare ask for a sample. Nice beard.
i own property near there but I will not be back. i want to be greated, offered a drink, and checked on. eye...
Read morePerfect place for food and drinks. The food was incredible. The service was incredible. Even the other guests were great! We were in the area and stopped for dinner. The bar was full of locals, but they did not make you feel like you were intruding! Which does happen often at small town bar and grills. We went to the back dining room found and table and almost immediately started having a conversation with the other guests. We had a lengthy discussion about the lack of good places to eat and which restaurants to avoid (fat radish). The server was friendly, attentive, and fast. Our food came quickly and was fresh and delicious. We had fish sandwich, chicken sandwiches with fries and onion rings. They were the best onion rings I've had in a long time.
The menu had many things I would have liked to try, but we were not that hungry to have multiple plates. The variety on the menu would have fit many.
It was a Fantastic meal. Thank you Cranberry...
Read moreFirst time coming to Cranberry on Lake Superior since they opened. Used to be Woody’s Bar. Really like what they did with the place, including the outdoor seating on the deck. Wasn’t too packed for a Friday which surprised us. Found seats right away. Menu is an upgrade in my opinion as well. My partner and I came from Superior for the Friday night fish fry. It did not disappoint. The fish was very fresh whitefish. I have tried many fish fry’s in northern Wisconsin and this is easily my new favorite. My partner prefers cod but I think after tonight she prefers whitefish when it’s prepared this fresh and this good. The tartar sauce was also unique and very very good. Must have been homemade. We also tried the cheese curds. Excellent. They are unique as well. Artichoke dip was also great. You can tell they take pride in their food. We’ll be...
