1st visit tonight, the place itself is beautiful! The staff friendly. Great beer from Catskill Brewery. We had beef and cauliflower tacos, ok but not great. We ordered fries and got tater tots that likely came out of the frozen section at the grocery market. Then had the crispy wings…these were good, but don’t expect anything but a plain chicken wing, the crispy was good but no other flavor or seasoning used. There was no spice in the beef for the tacos either. Our table was dirty from the last folks who ate there, we asked for a cloth to wipe the table off and was given dry napkins. Do I need to remind anyone that Covid and a new variant exists as well as thousands of other viruses and bacteria that make people ill? This part actually disgusted me and made me a bit angry. This is one of the most unique spots Ive ever visited. Set inside the beautiful ruins of an old brick pump house, it blends history, charm, and a laid back vibe perfectly. The towering brick walls without a roof give it an open-air, industrial feel while still being cozy with plenty of seating, umbrellas, and a casual, rustic atmosphere. They serve a solid variety of food, beer, cocktails, and wine. The kind of menu that works whether youre just stopping in for a drink or staying for an afternoon with friends. A unique experience greeted with exceptional service, food and beverages. Upon entry, you walk down the hill parallel the tracks with wild flowers. Before entering the official pump house, you place your order in the shipping containers that they made a bar in one and kitchen in the other. Now let’s get to the historic - eye catching - pump house ! Once inside, don’t forget to read about it and learn what was once here ! Keep history alive ! You can sit and enjoy the stream off of the window seats or find shade under their umbrellas if you wish. I have a four year old and he was enjoying this atmosphere. We came with a party of seven and all delightfully enjoyed our experience from service to taste of everything ! Highly recommend this to become apart of your travels. A must see , a must stop.
