I frequent Station 26 because it is an AMAZING little place! Indoor/Outdoor seating, great servers and bartenders, awesome menu, friendly atmosphere, CLEAN establishment and owners right on premises....helping out amidst the busy-ness!!! Sadly, my most recent visit, I left so disappointed. This was my 3rd and final time trying to have 1 of their many tempting burgers on their menu. Previous burgers have arrived overcooked, so I ordered yesterday's burger "rare"...as I like them "medium rare." My burger arrived "well done." I let the Bartender know, he agreed there was not any pink in it and told me he was 'sorry." I have been in the business for 44 years....and the 1st rule is to remedy the situation, make the customer happy...but nothing was offered. To add "insult," he asked if I wanted a box to take my overcooked burger home...? I'd taken 2 bites, eaten 1/2 the chips, paid full price and left hungry. There were 3 tables and a relatively full bar at the time. My remedy is to give up trying to have a burger at Station 26. We gave up on steak after the same experience, but will just explore the many other items on their menu. Station 26 is an amazing little gem in Cohocton.....just need to be more conscious of taking care of your customers and making their experiences...
Read moreKeep in mind there aren't many restaurants in Cohocton to choose from. I ordered the chicken fingers for lunch that came with fries. The food came out relatively quick but when the basket was put in front of me I was confused what I was looking at. The chicken fingers were curved but flattened out, not at all like fingers. Very odd. The French Fries were like "mini fries", all shorter than an inch, mostly half an inch in length. Also very odd. Was this what was left at the bottom of the bag? On to taste. These chicken fingers were the worst chicken fingers I have ever eaten. So over cooked there was no taste. Maybe the cook was trying to cover up the taste of food being freezer burnt? The fries were OK but again they were short stubs. The only saving grace was the bartender was very customer oriented and she made me an awesome drink. I would NOT eat here again and CANNOT recommend the food. 2 stars because of good service. 0 stars for the food...
Read moreKevin & Cindy were the perfect hosts. Kevin grabbed us when we first entered and directed us to a table. He told us Gypsy was our waittress, and she was a bit reserved today. We tried to engage with her, and once we found out her birthday was the next day, we lavished her with praise. She was super attentive and smiled big. We ordered 2 sets of wings, a burger, and BLT on sourdough. The food was hot and delicious. Cindy gave us a history of the establishment and spoke of all the extra events they do with the community. Sounds like a great hometown beacon of hope. Awesome job, guys!! We travel from PA to Olcott, NY, for an annual salmon fishing trip, and this is our favorite go-to on the way...
