Colden Country Inn — Restaurant in Town of Colden

I've been here many times before and it's usually pretty good. As of late, the service and quality has declined significantly. Today I ordered an $18 'Brisket Angus and Pastrami Burger' and I asked for it medium. Well, when it came I knew something was off because the patty was thin and gray and perfectly flat and circular. I tried to eat it but it was the absolute lowest quality frozen tasting patty I've ever had. We all know the taste and smell of a cheap frozen burger patty-- and this was exactly that. When I asked the waitress about it she said it tastes that way because it's hand made Brisket and Angus-- laughable. The patty was rubbery and well done and when I bent it to break it in half it didn't crumble or come apart as hand made burgers do- it literally bent until it snapped in half in a perfectly straight line. Nasty. Nothing comped on the bill and total lies about the meat they're using.

Love almost everything about this place. The atmosphere is nice with a patio. Plenty of tables in the dinner room, which is separate from the bar. Staff is amazing. Always friendly and helpful. Food has always been excellent- I don't think I've ever had a complaint about the quality. I believe they make the bread & rolls there. Prices are extremely reasonable. The only thing I would prefer more, is a little bit of a different menu. They have some interesting dishes on there that might not be everyone's thing. This isn't a big problem since there's still many classic choices and if you're only going there once in a while. I ordered food tonight 05/14/24 at 6:08 4 menu items. 1 Deep Fried Taco, Onion Rings, Loaded Fries and Mozzarella Sticks. Was told 45 mins to pick up. My Daughter went to pick up and was told 5 mins after giving them lil longer before going anyway. After 15 more mins past 5 mins. I called. Was told there were Patrons in Foyer waiting besides my Daughter because Tacos had blown up in Deep Fryer. So they said none of this to my daughter. 35 mins after 45 min time she got our food. I ordered my Taco with lettuce, cheese and sour cream no sauce. So what I got was a very Spicy Taco with no Cheese or Sour Cream. The Loaded Fries had almost no Cheese on them.
