Very good food BUT there is an unposted surcharge on take out orders. My in-laws have been going there weekly for some time now. Normally they run a tab between drinks and food. When it comes time to pay the bartender takes the money from the money on the bar and then they are generously tipped. Well the other day they went and got the early bird fish fry to go. Had several drinks while waiting but paid for them separately. When the food bill arrived my Mother in law asked to see it and the waitress/bartender then states there is a $4 per dinner surcharge for to go orders! PER DINNER! Now in my opinion, a small fee of $1 or less is common for the to go container but $4 per dinner? To top that off, the fish fry comes with Fish, Coleslaw and a roll PLUS your choice of TWO sides. They chose 2, one being soup as they had many times before and were charged an ADDITIONAL $3.50 for a side included with their meal! So, in total an additional $7.50 PER MEAL!! NO where is this posted and it was only brought to their attention when they asked to see the bill. They are/were regulars there. Not anymore. Personally I feel this was a deceptive thing and they are older folks who felt they could trust the people there having been there so often but I guess that is not the case. I wonder just how many times this was done to them and others and this is why I am letting others know. This pandemic has been hard on us all but to take advantage of good paying, regular customers is just wrong and no one was willing to make right by them either.
I will continue to share this in my Google reviews as well where my photo's and reviews have been seen by over 1 million ppl now. There is no excuse for this and its not just about the money but about breaking a trust one has when they put their money on the bar and expect the bartender or waitress to take only what is owed. Many details are attended to here. The cleanliness was apparent right away, and the seasonal decor was fresh. You might take trimmings for granted, but I for sure noticed the sliced lemons and limes, the dressing served on- the side and sprinkling of spinach on my salad, the cloth napkins and lots of other touches that made me feel welcome and valued. I did move the squeeze bottle of ketchup to an empty table nearby...it seemed out of place, but reminded me that this is not a snooty restaurant.
Our server was warm and just attentive enough; we were never interrupted, nor did we ever need to catch her eye, and I'd call that perfect. The steamed clams were awesome - small and tender with lovely translucent, white shells. These look like the awesome Asiatic clams we enjoyed on the west coast, and I'll return for these alone. (If the restaurant would like to correct me on the species, I will amend this review.)
Portions are generous. My husband enjoyed his leftover chicken Parm for dinner last night and said it was delicious. I just put 3 of my fried shrimp in the toaster oven at 350˚ for 10 minutes and they are what inspired me to write this review. No air fryer needed - they were phenomenally good. My Margarita on the rocks was just what I wanted and tasted as good as I'd hoped.

Read moreThis restaurant is amazing!!! Literally everything on the menu is incredible!!! The seafood Alfredo pasta is my absolute favorite! Last time we were in town I ordered a strawberry daiquiri, which was delicious and they even made a kiddie, virgin strawberry smoothie for my son with a lid on it! I also ordered the fried shrimp and fries and it was probably the best fried shrimp I have ever had! The atmosphere is incredible!! The owners have been working so hard and it shows!! Every time we come back, there is something new and improved!!! They have a hole in one challenge where you can qualify to win a huge cash prize on Sunday's, they have corn hole, a putting green, an outdoor deck with beautiful lights and seating, a bandstand, a full bar, a private room for larger groups inside, an incredible staff, and the list goes on!
