UPDATE: 08/06/2020 (1 STAR instead of 5)
I have been going here for over two years and it just seems like this bar wants to stay frozen in time. I have been asking and continuing to request for vegan options and none of those have come to fruition - which really isn't hard to find a cost effective menu option. Today, in the middle of COVID-19 (08/07/2020) I went with my housemates to grab a drink but because of NYS regulations we needed to get food to drink. After almost two years on asking about allergies and options, today was the first day that a server from Bourbon Street Pub is the FIRST server to inform me that the kitchen meets NO allergen standards and all items are cross-contaminated. With that new information the ONLY item I could order that was NOT included on their menu was celery sticks and carrots. Five (5) of each to be exactly for $2.50. I could get 15 celery sticks and 15 carrots for $2.50 from the grocery store so the fact they charged me for that little "appetizer/entre" is an INSULT. I didn't realize the food budget was so bad that they had to actively rip me off for "serving" ready to eat food. Honestly, I have no more loyalty to this business. I used to like the environment, staff, and karioake, but I now realize that this is a location I don't want to do business with. I am just so disappointed that AFTER 2 YEARS there are still no vegan options after multiple requests, at least 45 times.
ABBREVIATED REVIEW Let me get this straight, by law for COVID-19, I have to order food to enjoy the main product of the establishment, alcohol - sure laws are laws and I accept the will of the legislative and executive branches of government. But, as a business - you're going to serve me "CONTAMINATED" french fries for almost 2 years with no indication by all my past servers that the kitchen was not allergen friendly. I am disgusted by that. Not only is that a systematic issue, I still have NO options on the menu. So, I am actively being excluded from being served by this location due to my allergen status.
ORIGINAL REVIEW (5 STARS): Besides the location being so close to Rivers Casino in Schenectady, the venue is a great place to visit friends, grab some food or to have a drink. When I went, the staff were friendly and flexible to our orders on a late Thursday night. I really enjoyed my food and hope to come back. I highly recommend this location if...
Read moreOur group of 12 that plays golf Wednesday nights has been going there weekly since May of 2023. Over the past 25 years have been 3-4 places on Wednesday nights-Ralphs until about 5 years ago (newish ownership YEAH, DeMarcos (Excellent italian) and Martels at the course (meh-convenient I guess). Wish we found this place years ago. First week we got there, manager/owner came over and introduced himself, explained if we came there weekly, 2nd round always on them. Also first week, Sarah, our waitress most weeks (though they all check on tables), asked our names first week and greets us by name when we walk in (along with asking if we're each having our usual that she also remembers). Bread is homemade-only once they ran out and offered one of their homemade desserts as substitute. Wings don't need to be ordered extra crispy - they are and have great options. Pizza is awesome as are almost every dish we've had after 10 visits. Can't say enough. You can get a bad meal or bad service on a given day anywhere, yes, but so far overall our experience here has been stellar. It's not close to where I live, but I have recommended it to many given the menu variety and what appears weekly as a hard effort to patrons. Lot of TVs if you like sports. Gets loud in there quickly if you go at a busy time -so if you don't like that-avoid during peak times. If I had one recommendation, there are a lot of sound absorbing tools you can get these days at the local Lowes/Home Depot. I would recommend hanging some of them on ceiling/walls where appropriate - you will be surprised at the difference it makes so that people at tables can hear themselves think at peak hours....
Read moreWe recently visited The Bourbon for the first time, and overall, it was a good experience for a bar. The atmosphere is very lively, with a mix of bikers, college-aged kids, and older patrons enjoying the patio, bar, and dining areas.
Our waitress, Lucy, was attentive and friendly, and the staff, in general, were fast and efficient, ensuring we had everything we needed. Initially, I was concerned about dining with bikers as we are new to the area and didn’t know it was a biker hangout, but the environment turned out to be welcoming.
After receiving our drinks, there was a bit of a wait for our appetizer. We ordered Honey Barbecue chicken wings. They were naked and lightly seasoned; the flavor wasn't quite to my liking, although my husband appreciated their crispiness.
For our main course, my husband had the Breakfast Burger, and I had the Bourbon Burger. While they weren't the best burgers we've had, they were still good. The fries were hot and enjoyable. The drinks were strong, so plan on having just one. I tried the blueberry specialty drink but found it difficult to drink with a straw due to the berries, and it was not as sweet as I expected, just strong.
Overall, The Bourbon offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere with decent food and strong drinks. We appreciate the friendly service from Lucy and the...
