It had been a while since I had been to one of their Capital Region locations, and I forgot how satisfying and good their pizza slices are. While I am partial to a good large NY🍕 slice, if you walk in for a slices at Inferno you'll get a pretty large, square, family style slice. So what's good about their standard, walk-in/take-out, square family-style (as I call them) slices? They're so damn delicious! They nail the dough, the crust is moderately crispy (could be a little more crisp though still has a nice crisp), nice flavor, and chew. The pizza is also beautifully sauced. This is a mouth-watering slice, and NOT a dry-dough tasteless pizza like those terrible cardboard pies found at so many other places popping up around the Capital Region!
Some time ago when I used to have the opportunity to order out (and visit ) more, I've had some of their Italian dishes & subs like chicken parm, sausage and peppers, and others. And though I can't review those past visits today I always remember being impressed. They just make great Italian food, they're friendly, they're a classic, and they just know what they're doing. I won't hesitate to order or visit in the future, or even get catering next...
Read moreThe food from here is pretty good but they are terrible at delivery and correcting order mistakes. If you order online through Mealeo the system will inevitably glitch and when your order shows up at your door 60-70 minutes later, it will be missing an entree. The two times I've had to call to correct the order and request that the rest of it be delivered, the correction took even longer than the original delivery. Tonight I waited 90 minutes between the correction call and the delivery of my food (so over 2.5 from order to entree). No hustle, no effort to correct, nothing. I get that mistakes happen and I wasn't going to post a poor review based on that. But it's the service and the response to the mistakes that really needs improvement.
Also, the delivery drivers are the worst I've encountered. I've had them ask me to come out to the road so they don't have to park or stop; I've had them run a block back to the car to make change and then only have nickels and dimes available for change; I've had them knock on the door of a multi-unit building instead of ringing a doorbell or calling my cell. It's just weird and inconvenient...
Read morePizza was fine, but the unfair gouging of a loyal, local customer ruined the experience. The website featured a Monday night special of a large 1-topping pizza for $12.99 plus tax. When I called to place my order, I was told that the price had increased and the website had not been updated. Fine, as I know small businesses have had a difficult time this year. However, when I arrived, the chalkboard next to the counter read "Monday special: large 1-topping pizza, $13.99 plus tax." When I brought this to the cashier's attention, she responded by saying that she did not know who wrote that on the board. The fact that there were two incorrect prices quoted before being charged a third, higher price was unacceptable, especially when one of those prices had clearly been written today. As stated earlier, I have been a loyal customer, ordering pizza for my family once a month and supporting a local business. However, I felt that this was disrespectful and will not order from this business again until this situation...
