Yikes. Avoid the “fish & chips” or you will be served two small pieces of frozen, over breaded, mushy fish, that you would likely find in the frozen food isle at your local grocery store. This is not a freshly made, battered fish that you might expect. Also purchased the 3 course dinner special with panko crusted baked cod. It looked delicious, but was unfortunately undercooked. Finally, tried the pizza, which was the best part of the meal. Our waitress was very nice from the start and very apologetic. The restaurant was generous enough to comp part of the meal, which is why this is not a 1 star review. Looking over the reviews, it seems this place does put out decent food but be aware that certain items should be avoided.

My sister through my bridal shower here and it was absolutely fabulous. My guests loved the ambiance. We loved how amazing Jim was to deal with. He helped us all throughout the day. The staff were so sweet and helpful. The restaurant is super clean. My shower looked beautiful. Will definitely recommend and be back for lunch or dinner!!

$11.00 for these "mozzarella sticks" with NO CHEESE!? ridiculous. Called to speak with a manager, was told she was busy and not available but the girl could take a message. I requested someone bring me fresh mozzarella sticks or refund my money and the girl laughed. No care at all. I used to like this place but not so much lately.

Where do I start! I'm giving one star because you can't give no stars. Walked in waited to be seated a good 4 minutes. Not busy at all for a restaurant that size. Finally seated waited 15 minutes till a server approached our table. We order a cabernet, (small pour) draft beer and titos and a splash of club soda. Drinks took 8 minutes to come, only wrong drinks, titos, club and cranberry! Wait it gets better. Another server brought our first round of drinks. We had to ask for a second round of drinks from our server. Then we orderd chicken tacos and server brought out fish tacos. Food was average or below average in my opinion for burgers and tacos. So the bill came and they charged 24.50 for 2 titos and splash of club soda. I asked for the manager and he said Martels policy is to double the price when you order a drink that way. I've been to a lot more higher end establishments and ordered the same way, got the same drink as tonight but never charged double the price. In fact I've had that drink before at martels and never paid that. I feel as if they were trying to make up on the fact that they compensated us for serving the wrong meal. So I guess if you order an extra shot be prepared to pay for two drinks. Overrall very bad experience, service awful, food ok, we have been here before, but wont be back. For whatever its worth dont waste your money here.!!!! Its sad because we liked it here but after tonight's treatment ...

First visit there. We'd been to Martel's in Albany many times but never to the Colonie location. We arrived at 6:00 PM on a summer Friday night and sat on the outdoor covered patio. Beautiful night and pleasant surroundings. The friendly manager greeted us and made us feel at home. Our waitress was also friendly and helpful. Sandwiches and salads were very good! We were meeting a large group for a get-together and to hear "Joe's Boys", a band that I've wanted to hear for a long time. "Joe's Boys" is a very talented group, BUT they are WAY TOO LOUD. We were a group of 12. One guy was smart enough to bring ear plugs. Others, including myself, had our fingers in our ears. It was physically painful! No way to converse. We cut our evening short because I was seriously concerned about permanent hearing loss. We will definitely return to Martel's another time, but not when Joe's Boys are playing unless I knew for sure they were turning it down a few notches! Very disappointed how the evening...
