The Cleveland House — Restaurant in Town of Constantia

It's was wonderful to hear about the restoration that has taken place! Melissa, the owner, was happy to tell us stories of The Cleveland house, both old and new. Nice atmosphere! Cozy, they host bands, follow on Facebook for more info on bands and events such as St Patty's day, and band info. They have a well stocked bar for a small bar, both liquor and beer. Now for the food. It's was our first time there, and we only had appetizers, stuffed cheddar jalapeño tots, steak bites, and cheese steak quesadias. These were absolutely delicious! Tots came out looking like toasted marshmellows, dont be fooled, thin crunchy layer with a softer flavorful inside. Yum! The steak bites are marinated & grilled, I believe, and are very tender. Food was good. Exceptional burger but fries were little piece and not many. Side salad served in a small bowl making it difficult to keep the lettuce in it. Folks smoking cigarettes and pot on the front porch and the side door was left open with people smoking in the opening. Open door allowed flies to come in. Food took 20-25 minutes to arrive. Mine was luke warm but the burger was nice and freshly cooked. My pasta would have be much better if hot and they could afford to put more then a tiny amount of sauce on it. Vacationing on the north side of the lake didn't leave us with many dining options. Fortunately, we found the Cleveland house! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. We had the sweetest waitress on our second visit. We ordered the specials each night. Stuffed tots and prime rib sandwich stole the show. Don't skip the potato salad. Definitely the best I've ever had. OMG! They even have fresh cut fries for poutine! Would visit the lake again just for Cleveland house food. It really was the best meals of the trip.
