I’m glad the new owner revived this building, the Dutch Treat which I’ve driven past for years. It has stylish charm from the past while having an interesting, creative menu. You can see a lot of thought went into every piece of the place. The menu is eclectic but features fish and chicken. Fish ‘n Chips, Shrimp and Scallop Boats, fried Chicken. There is also a nice selection of salads and vegetarian/GF options. I had the Rhode Island Style Fried Calamari which was so light and crispy, well seasoned and tossed with pickled peppers. It was a generous portion and presented very nicely. I’m looking forward to trying some other things on the menu. Hush puppies looked good. They also have a soft serve ice cream thing going on and the sundaes looked interesting and fun. I think they might be making some of their own toppings. All in all, I wish them every success in these challenging times. This is a true mom (minus the pop) operation, a...

This place is wildly anomalous for its location, but it is quirky and wonderful and makes seriously good food at very fair prices. Honestly it may be the best seafood you can get in the region, and I’m not sure how they source that being two and a half hours from NYC. But both the raw ingredients and the chef’s skills are great, and the portions are also substantial. Even the wine list is remarkably thoughtful and someone here knows their stuff.

The juxtaposition of a fun diner atmosphere with really excellent and high-effort food that manages to achieve a truly “home style” effect — and emphasizing seafood, no less, there’s nothing harder, and I speak as a onetime chef — is unique. And the prices are way more than reasonable for the quality, I’d even call them low.

The people who run it are so nice, and the vibe is original and fun. Totally a great place for kids too. I really hope they thrive. This is a labor of love...

This place is a gem, the staff was very friendly and quality of food was really delicious and fresh. We had the fish and chips, mussels, greek salad cabbage salad and fried calamari. Everything tastes delicious, the fish and chips had a crispy batter with some crushed chips, the fish inside was very juicy. The cabbage salad with mint, cilantro and carrots was very crunchy and delightful. The fried calamari had the perfect crunch. The greek salad was also incredibly fresh, the mussels tasted straight out of the ocean (I was surprised since the ocean is not that close)

This area does not offer a lot of options aside from pizza and bar food, I would highly recommend eating here if you are looking for fresh food and quality fried food.

The place is lovely and has a...

Wow, what an incredible hidden gem! We went for the vast selection of tinned fish, and were blown away by such high quality food. The fish were all so fresh and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The vegetables were also such high quality, including one of the most vibrant red tomatoes I’ve ever seen. The steamed fish in curry sauce I could eat all day every day. For such an unassuming menu, we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic as well, and we had some great help in selecting some tinned fish to take home! Wish I had found out about this place sooner, I can’t wait to go back!

Incredible. Everything you could want out of a summer lunch. The staff was wonderfully friendly, the outdoor seating peaceful and serene, and who knew you could get that good a hush puppy & softshell crab in such a relatively landlocked area of New York. Seriously though the honey drizzled hush puppy was incredible, thick crunchy outer crust with a well seasoned interior the perfect soft consistency. All the food was excellently prepared, the Ginger-ade was an interesting homebrew beverage and a vanilla soft-serve dipped in malt powder capped the day. We will be back again ASAP!

This is my new favorite eatery! I've been a few times now and have never been disappointed. The decor is cheery and the food is outstanding. I plan on working my way through the menu, but today I've tried the Rhode Island style calamari which is fantastic, the buttermilk chicken sandwich (also beyond delicious) and most recently the chowder of the day which, in this case was cod, a variety of seafood, broccoli, cauliflower with a green Thai chili flair. So good! Also, do yourself a favor and have the sesame sundae. You're welcome!
