C&J's Eatery — Restaurant in Town of Corning

Hot damn so good. Your know your in the right spot when it's in the cuts and ran bye a southern family that's overly the top friendly you just know your about to get a trip to flavor town. I'm still trying to process all the damn flavors on this plate here's a hint it's been eaten for 5 hours and I'm still thinking about it wanting more even though I'm still stuffed. Best %100 in town. Is it the best in nys? It's in the discussion for sure at least that I've tried . Think I'm kidding look at my reviews I travel everywhere throughout the state . And I don't give anyone a 5 star review especially after one time . I'll give a bad review real after one time . But this place got my 5 star review fast . Now my only complaint and to be fair it's not a complaint as much as a back handed compliment, I wish I had gotten more coleslaw, the container was small as is and that freaking coleslaw was on point it left me wanting a little more then a half filled small container. Again it was really good idk if you should give more because it could take away from the star of the show the fish and the sides .so idk I'm up in the air about that plus as you can see the the plate for whatever it's is we paid for it's freaking big . So it's not like it's a deal breaker because it's just a great fish fry. I'm afraid to try the chicken now because what if I like it more how am I gunna grade that lol. I'll definitely %1555555555000000...

This little place has big flavors and we eat here at least once a week. My only issue is lack of a set menu and schedule. But, variety is good and the food is fantastic! The BBQ sauce is the best! Oh, and that pumpkin corn bread? I'm drooling right now!! Yum! **4/6/2025-Just had the beef tips, mashed potatoes and collards. The beef was cooked perfectly..not tough..melt in your mouth. The mashed potatoes are "real" and really tasty. Not lumpy. Now...I don't like every restaurant's collards...I grew up in the South and there are many interpretations depending upon where you are. C & J's never disappoints. Love their collards! I add hot sauce & vinegar (my preference)..you just can't go wrong with C & J's...we had the broiled fish on Friday as well. The people there are always welcoming and friendly. It's our favorite...

You must visit this place on Fridays between 2-7pm to get the best fish fry. I had fried haddock with a cornmeal breading. My. friend had fried haddock with a traditional breading. The vegetable were excellent. I had Mac and cheese ( yummy)and fried cauliflower. My friend had green beans( contains pork) and onion rings(amazing). I’d go back there every Friday if I lived in Corning, New York. Since there are so many parks around that area, we took the meals to the nearest one and ate it at an outdoor picnic table. Vegetarians would like the sides but be careful to ask if any of them in addition to the green beans...
