The Cottage Inn is a welcoming lunch and dinner destination that delivers a satisfying dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the inviting ambiance and warm hospitality set the tone for a pleasant visit. The service is commendable, with friendly and attentive staff who enhance the overall experience. While the bar area is small, it exudes charm, making it a great spot to unwind. The dining area accommodates both small and larger groups comfortably, making it a versatile choice for various occasions.
That said, diners should anticipate a wait for their meals. As the restaurant fills up, the kitchen struggles to keep pace, leading to wait times that can extend beyond 40 minutes. While this may be a drawback for some, the food’s quality upon arrival largely compensates for the delay.
The menu offers a solid selection of options, catering to different tastes. One standout was the build-your-own burger, featuring double half-pound patties topped with bacon, cheese, jalapeños, lettuce, and tomato, served with crispy fries and a side of nacho cheese. Despite the extended wait, the meal arrived fresh, hot, and visually appealing. The bacon was flavorful, though not particularly crispy, while the cheese was perfectly melted. The tomato slices were on the larger side, making the burger slightly challenging to eat, but the fresh lettuce and well-toasted bun added to its appeal. With the generous toppings, the burger was a bit messy, requiring a knife to cut, but it was cooked to a perfect medium-well as requested, with a rich and satisfying flavor. The fries were well-seasoned with a slight coating for extra crispness, pairing well with the nacho cheese.
To accompany the meal, the iced tea with pomegranate flavoring was an excellent choice—refreshing and well-balanced. With over five flavors available to customize drinks, the beverage selection adds an extra layer of variety. The bar is well-stocked with both beer liquor and wine, and even during a busy service, the bartender/server maintained a friendly and efficient presence.
Overall, The Cottage Inn offers a solid dining experience with well-executed food and a welcoming atmosphere. While the wait for food can be lengthy during peak hours, the quality and portion sizes make it worth the visit. Whether stopping in for lunch or dinner, guests can enjoy a well-rounded menu with enticing specials and drinks. The winter season draws in snowmobile traffic, keeping the restaurant lively, but it remains a worthwhile stop for those seeking good food and a relaxed environment. Looking forward to a return visit to explore more...
Read moreHad heard good things about this place so we decided to check it out. We went for dinner at dinner time so it definitely wasn’t “after hours” but the music blaring GD and dropping the F bomb was def not a pleasant dinner atmosphere. We overlooked it hoping for good food. For the price, it was mediocre. The burger was a good size but I don’t even think it was salted. To top it off (no pun intended) lettuce and tomatoes are not even included and you’re charged 50¢ extra for each, plus every other topping. The service matched the food - mediocre at best. If you’re looking for a place to have some drinks with a buddy, go for it. If you’re looking for a decent dinner out with your spouse,...
Read moreOrdered the three cheese Mac and cheese thinking it was like I remembered with the last owners. I have gotten better Mac and cheese from a box. No rue to speak of so it was very dry Mac and cheese. I don't know what 3 cheeses they are using but none of them have any taste to them. Basically a child's menu Mac and cheese that they are charging $10 for. When the waitress asked how everything was and I said not good she basically shut down conversation and did NOT address any issues. Family of 5 for mother's Day and we probably...
