Sal's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of DeRuyter

Great pizza here. Probably the best I've had since I moved to NY a couple years ago. Great dough and excellent sauce. The garlic knots were top notch. Dude was very welcoming when we came in for a dine-in dinner with the grandson. Our waitress was great, brought our food out as soon as it came out of the oven. Restroom was clean, as was the dining area. Prices were great for the current state of the economy. 27 bucks for a large specialty pie. I was born and raised in DeRuyter , leaving for Long Island not long after Sal's opened I just missed getting to know this place. However, my parents who have lived there for many decades were always greeted with wonderful service and some of the best Italian food you can find. Sal's always accommodated any special requests from my mom happily. Whenever I go back home I make sure to go to Sal's at least once and often more than once. Best pizza around - My family and I love Sal’s pizza. We miss it a lot now that we have moved away from DeRuyter, But always a nice treat when we are able to visit family in town and get Sal’s for dinner.
