One of the worst dining and customer service experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in my life, and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. We show up at 7:00 and they tell us to seat ourselves so we sat out on the patio. Everything is normal up to this point. We we’re sitting at our table for 45 minutes at this point and didn’t even have a server stop by to acknowledge us yet or give us menus. There was a 15 top that was seated AFTER us and they had received their drinks and had their orders taken already in this time frame. Finally we decided to get our own drinks and walked inside up to the bar and told the bartender nobody had stopped at our table yet in the 45 minutes we were there and we ordered our drinks at the bar. We still had to wait 10 minutes at the bar for our drinks. The bartender then told us someone would be out shortly. We saw the same bartender come out to check a table 3 different times in the next 15 and he didn’t even acknowledge us or asked if we’ve been helped yet, even though he walked right past our table and saw where we were sitting. Another 15 minutes go by and we finally got someone to come to us. She said I saw you had drinks so I figured you had a server. Where were you the hour before we had to go inside and get our drinks ourselves when we had nothing on the table? She said maybe next time you guys need to flag someone down and then you can get some help sooner. We can’t flag someone down if there is no one walking by to flag down. It shouldn’t be the customer’s job to have to keep track of who was attended to yet and who wasn’t. It didn’t seem like there was any systems in place to keep track of anything. We heard a table behind us talking amongst themselves having the same problem. They finally got up and walked out. I could see if it was super busy and they let us know ahead of time they were running behind, but there was plenty of open tables, and the staff didn’t mention anything of a wait time to us. We placed our order, nothing complicated at all, a wrap and a sandwich. It took over a half hour for our food to come out. We told the server about our complaint and said we didn’t think it was fair that we should have to pay full price after waiting that long. They agreed and ended up taking the food off of our bill. Then the food finally comes out. Only one of our orders had fries. We asked where the other fries were since they had over a half hour to make them. The server went in to check and 15 minutes later came out and said the owner told her since they took the food off of our bill, he didn’t think we should get the order of fries we ordered. The server also said usually when we deduct money off of your bill we don’t even let you eat the rest so we should be lucky we’re LETTING you finish. We complained to her about the brutal customer service and she said every restaurant in the country is short staffed from covid and they were doing the best they can. Yea thats true, and I’ve been to dozens of restaurants in the last few months who are also short staffed, and somehow they can make it work fine, and I can get in and out, and be satisfied with my food in less time than it takes to just get a acknowledged at this place. It was just one excuse after another, and she never once said it was their fault and she kept arguing with us and still kept bringing up how it was our fault because we should’ve flagged someone down. I go there to pay for service, not to provide my own. I usually never write reviews, and normally wouldn’t be writing this one and could look past one bad experience. However, every time we have been in there this year it takes an unreasonable amount of time to get menus, get orders taken, get food brought to the table and get another drink brought out after we’ve finished...

I am not someone who ever leaves reviews but this experience was so unexceptible it is just inexcusable. My husband is a restaurant manager who more often than not always has to work on Saturday nights until closing. This Saturday being the exception he was scheduled off of work by 8:00 pm. Looking forward to a romantic prime rib dinner out, I called early in the afternoon to make a reservation and request 2 prime rib dinners for 9:00. I was denied both requests and assured that you never run out of prime rib. I called again at 8:45 to confirm there was still prime rib left and was again assured that there was. I again asked if I could reserve 2 prime rib dinners, and stated I was on my way coming from Wausau. Again told no, but not to worry you never run out. I was there by 9:15 and we ordered our dinners. 10 minutes later the server comes back and informs us, I'm sorry we ran out of prime rib can I get you something else. Disappointed but too late to go anywhere else I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered broasted chicken. We also both ordered a cup of soup. Another 10 minutes later the server returns to tell us you're out of soup, and asked if would we like a salad instead. We said no we would just wait for our dinners. Now that makes 2 things we ordered that were unavailable. This was at 9:35. At 10:15 the server returns and sets my cheeseburger in front of me and turns to my husband and says, I'm sorry we ran out of chicken, can I get you something else instead. This was the last straw, we waited for 40 minutes to be told the 3rd food we ordered wasn't available either. I said I will pay for the 2 Southern Comfort old fashions and the 2 Diet Cokes we had and we were leaving. The bartender said she would get the manager. She turned to one manager who was well aware of the situation as she was walking back and forth behind the bar the whole time and heard everything that was said, and the manager rudely replied I'm busy they're gonna have to wait. Then the bartender offered to get the other manager, Sarah I believe, and went back to the kitchen. She returns and tells me we're just going to charge for for your drinks $17.50 and take the food off your bill. I don't know what food was going to be removed from my bill since we didn't receive any food, unless you were even considering trying to charge me for the cheeseburger that I didn't even touch, and refused, since I was expected to what, eat in front of him while he waited another 40 minutes for a 3rd choice of dinner. I only offered to pay for our drinks because I didn't want to walk out without paying, but to be honest, after the experience we just had, comping our drinks was the absolute least you should have done. And the worst part of this whole experience is that when the bartender (who was very nice, and tried to be helpful) went to get the second manager, that other manager also dismissed us, by not even taking the time to come and talk to us and was obviously told to charge us $17.50, for the 2 old fashions, and 2 diet Cokes, offering absolutely no compensation for our ruined evening and lack of dinner. This was not the first unpleasant experience we have had here, yet we have come back giving second and third chances, but I definitely assure you it...

Out for a scenic fall drive and discovered this fantastic place! Huge parking lot! They could handle a good sized crowd here with all the seating areas they offer inside and outside. We were immediately greeted when we walked in the door by Kenny. Being a sunny fall day with temps in the mid-70s, he allowed us to choose a table on the patio where we enjoyed the view next to the Wisconsin River. Kenny recommended their specialty Broasted Chicken dinner. They even offer the option of choosing all white meat! It came with coleslaw, dinner roll and choice of potato. It was delicious!! Also ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap with sweet potato fries....YUMMY! Kenny kept the cold drinks coming and checked on us often. We loved the inside decor, especially the old motors mounted above the big screen TVs! Lots of seating both inside and outside. Along with patio seating, they have a HUGE covered deck area with lots of tables and a nice screened-in outdoor bar! Couldn't have picked a better place than Bullheads. So relaxing and enjoyable! They even have an axe throwing caged area! If you're looking for a fun place that's perfect for families, couples or groups, we highly recommend this excellent bar and grill! Be sure to say hi to Kenny.... he's the best! This will be on our FAVORITES list. Can't...

Getting here takes a little coordination, but it's well worth it. There is not an exit from the interstate, so you either have to exit early or after. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome by Eliana. She did a great job all evening. Our goal was to try their fish fry and decided to get the battered and the breaded haddock. The orders came out quickly. The breaded haddock was more than I expected. It was loaded with flavor from the herbs and spices but didn't take away from the flavor of the fish. The battered haddock was crispy and very typical of what you find in most fish fry, but the haddock adds another dimension from cod. The frys were cut differently. They were thin and wide, similar to a steak fry but much better. They were out of baked potatoes, so i tried the potato salad. Fresh made and delicious. It paired very well with the fish. The cole slaw was fresh and creamy. I typically prefer a little more onion, lemon, and honey, but it was better than most. This is the best fish fry we have had all year. We will definitely be back.

My wife and her friend each ordered the Brew House Sampler. It has onion rings, mozzarella sticks, shrimp, mushrooms, jalapeño poppers, and chicken strips. What came was two giant orders of French fries, 2 small mozzarella sticks, 3 small burnt onion rings, fried unseasoned mushrooms, and limp unseasoned fried broccoli. No shrimp, no chicken, no jalapeño poppers. When this was addressed with the server she said they had recently switched to a different prepackaged mix. We had to repeatedly ask for the samplers to be removed from the bill. In addition to the food debacle, the service was glacial. It took 45 minutes to bring out the samplers even though there were 4 other people in the bar. No one ever came to refill our drinks, and no one bothered to apologize for the food issue. This was the worst experience I’ve had at a bar in Wisconsin.

Very cool location right on the river. They had the basic tap beer selection and a full bar. Looked like there was only one or two waitstaff working but they handled all of the tables pretty well considering it was quite busy. We started out with the pot roast nachos which I thought was a unique nacho topping. They had a good amount of cheese and sour cream but could have benefitted from some red onion and tomato. The fish fry was top notch. It looked like the fillets were deep fried with capers (?) not sure if that added much flavor but the beer batter overall was very good. My husband ordered the duck tenders which were a little dry but he still picked at them. The menu was large and I was tempted by the mahi mahi salad so we might have to stop again on our next trip up north!
