La Guadalupana Mini Market Wingdale — Restaurant in Town of Dover

Been coming here for a few years and I love the tacos at this restaurant in a grocery store. If you’re looking for a trendy, hipster taco spot like in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this isn’t for you. Here you will find a hard working, family owned and run establishment that really cares for the food that is made, along with locals that are really happy to have a place like this for after work meals and shopping convenience.

I usually get the 3 taco platter, with your choice of meat, that comes with rice and black beans. My favorites being chorizo and carne asada tacos loaded with pico de gallo, limes, homemade salsa verde and freshly cut radishes. Wash it down with a Jarrito and sometimes, if I have room for dessert, a freshly cut slice of flan.

Extraordinary! La Guadalupana is a well-stocked market, including green grocery and a meat case. Even more exciting, they are a restaurant serving incredible and super-fresh food. There’s a charming, spacious dining area with a takeout counter designed to make call-ahead orders simple.

I picked up chicken hard tacos and some guac, plus a pint of fresh pickles at the counter that included a vegetable I’d never seen. The clerk explained it is a vegetable but said he didn’t know its name in english. Turns out pacaya is pacaya. It is highly delicious.

The chicken hard tacos were skillfully proportioned and thoughtfully seasoned, as were the side of rice and beans.

Their guac is enlightenment. Imagine yourself walking into the Hertz or Enterprise at the airport to pick up that crossover SUV you had reserved as an upgrade to treat yourself, and all of a sudden you’re handed a Corvette...

Really enjoyed the steak tacos, the chorizo not as much.

The sopes were yummy according to my companion.

Enjoyed their tortilla chips too.

It's a more simple style dining but definitely a hangout spot.

Their prices are very reasonable. And food is the real deal.

The market part was interesting also with all kinds of Spanish food stuff & more & they had meats, chicken also in the back for sale.
