To start with the positives: the views were gorgeous and it was a beautiful day. Our waiter was personable and nice. The short: a beautiful spot to eat with subpar service and middling, drastically overpriced food. The long: our food took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, despite less than a quarter of the tables being occupied. We ordered two hamburgers, lobster mac and cheese, and a grilled chicken pita. The $35 lobster Mac contained what looked to be boxed pasta and small pieces of lobster, with thin-looking cheese sauce. My order, the OG burger, was worse than unimpressive. What was meant to be a "smash burger" was pretty clearly an un-smashed(?) patty, not dissimilar to the frozen ones we'd grilled at a BBQ the night before. The "special sauce" was missing entirely and the patty itself was overcooked and dry. The most flavorful things on the burger were the onions. I dumped some of the ketchup that came with my fries onto the burger. I have had much better burgers at fast food restaurants. The shoestring fries were crisp and well-salted, which was a plus. The chicken pita was okay. Unless you're just coming here for a few drinks and a beautiful view, avoid it.

With ocean views everywhere and fresh LARGE portions, you can't go wrong with this cheerful and bright restaurant where we enjoyed lunch and breakfast--the following day. Everything was delicious and they were quite accommodating to our dietary needs...making a fab salad (see photos) and a traditional New England lobster roll (can be prepared hot too), bursting with crustacean meat, & don't forget to request the delish sweet potato fries! For breakfast, we had the fluffy ricotta pancakes which was perfect to share, for us minimal breakfast eaters.

Amazing view from the outdoor area to enjoy a meal. Food was good, but the service was subpar. It took 10 minutes for our server to first visit our table and our waters were never refilled. This was also in November, not in the middle of busy season.

We went here hoping for a great experience, but were extremely disappointed with our meal and the service provided. The atmosphere was trying to be high end, but the tables were old and wobbly and to start there was leftover syrup on our table. This was the first sign of what was to come.

We ordered our drinks and they forgot to deliver one of the orders until we reminded them when our food arrived. When the food arrived the fries were the side of McDonald’s fries (thinly cut), but were cold and floppy. To make things worse, I ordered the Greek pita wrap and to my surprise, found a hair in my meal adding to the displeasurable dining experience.

The trend continued as one person in our group ordered a salad and the waiter mistakenly never put the order to the kitchen and it ended up arriving after we finished our meal that cost the four of us over $200+. For this type of dining experience, I was appalled this is considered a luxury resort by the lack of attention to detail and inconsistencies throughout our dining experience.

I would not recommend dining to anyone and would strongly encourage you to eat elsewhere when planning your trip to Gurney’s...

went here saturday after a massage and a facial. my sister was literally served a frozen piece of tuna. the server brought a new one, a few people apologized. mistakes happen, sure. we got the bill and we were charged twice for the tuna, for both that were brought to the table, including the frozen one. again, mistakes happen, so i let that one go as well. i worked in the restaurant industry for many years so the servers apology for this was even fine. but then to get the bill back again, and not have the first one comped, nor a round of drinks, was just so incredibly appalling to me that i couldn't resist writing a review. sure, they had to dish out two different tunas. but are you kidding me? you served the first one FROZEN. having years of experience working in the industry along with family members who work in the industry has taught me that a scenario like that, ALWAYS results in something comped -- because of how huge a mistake it is; to send something to a table that's literally inedible, because it's...
