Came here for Father’s Day, and at first glance it was very busy but they had a beautiful outside bar and large tent for people to sit under and wait for their table. Although it was a holiday, it was definitely a really long wait to be seated, then to order, and lastly to wait for the food. I appreciate the owners of the business trying to be transparent about inflation and rising prices where they have this giant yellow sign on every page of the menu about rising costs. For a bar/tavern kind of vibe restaurant (since the dining area is surrounded on both sides by a bar), the prices were still more than I expected especially given the taste of the food. However, I thought the food would match it but unfortunately I had the really long named menu item “Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Pesto with Chicken”. There was no red nor tomato tasted in this dish or pepper, and I was told that its a homemade sauce which really surprised me. I’ve actually had this sort of sauce in a different style of cooking and I definitely don’t think it should go into this kind of dish and it was really heavy/oily when the “sauce” was separated from the penne home noodles. The sea crab dip did cost the same as an entrée but they definitely nailed it with the large-sized, crispy and soft chips. The service and waitresses were phenomenal and even asked about switching out the dish I had for something else. This would’ve been a better experience if I had chosen a different dish in the beginning.

UPDATE: Guppy's Restaurant & Tavern owners Doug & Christy reached out and apologized for the poor experience my husband and I had on March 12. They sent us a gift card as well. Hopefully we’ll be able to get back to NY soon! I’ve been going to Guppy's Restaurant & Tavern since I was a kid. Every summer my family would rent a cabin in Chautauqua, NY and inevitably we’d end up at Guppy’s for dinner one night. I’ve passed this tradition down to my sons, who have enjoyed their fair share of Guppy’s Stromboli. So imagine my disappointment when my husband and I visited this past Saturday (March 12) for lunch only to be seated and ignored for 20 minutes. We watched two tables arrive AFTER us and be SERVED. No waitress ever looked our way. We didn’t even get glasses of water. No the restaurant wasn’t swamped. We arrived shortly after they opened that afternoon. We walked out and took our business elsewhere. Disappointed & heartbroken. Guppy’s used to be our “go to” when we were in town. I’ll think twice next time.

What an absolute gem of a place! I was searching for a new place to eat that I never been to and this place caught my eye. When you arrive at this tucked in location, you're greated with a big smile and friendly staff. Intrigued by the ski gondola, we took a table in on of these. What a fun experience! It's private and unique. Decorated with cool stickers, blinky lights and your own Bluetooth speaker, it was so unique and we absolutely loved the experience. I would say it would fit 4 adults comfortably. They are a bit tight to get in and out but not too bad. Our drinks where great (with bobas!) And the food was absolutely fantastic. Besides the gondolas, there were tables for larger groups. It was a fun date night and we will be returning. Kudos to the owners for being a little unique and maintaining a high level of quality. We will be back.

Worst dining experience ever! Upon being seated our waitress arrived promptly at our table and took our drink order. We ordered 2 frozen drinks and 2 waters. Shortly afterwards she took our dinner order. We requested that our soup be brought out with the meal. 20 minutes later our frozen drinks arrived. ONE minute later the hot soup arrived. We told the waitress we just got our drinks and we requested the soup with our meal. So the soup was returned to the kitchen. Eventually our meal and soup arrived at the same time. The soup was NOT as described by the waitress. By this point we realized she wasn't familiar with the menu as she was unable to answer our previous questions in regards to the menu. Half way through our meal she asked us if we wanted water. Lemons, extra napkins and a second spoon for sharing the soup were finally received after multiple requests. She took our dessert order then returned to tell us they were out of the dessert. We had ordered the pumpkin bread pudding which we had seen before dinner and it's one of our favorite desserts so we were quite disappointed to hear they were out. Several minutes later the owner came over to tell us they did in fact have the dessert. By this time we were so frustrated, we just wanted to go!; we decided we would go have dessert at another restaurant. Disappointing ending for our vacation weekend. I did speak to the owner to let him know the soup we received wasn't as described and our waitress seemed to need further training. Food was good if you can get past the incompetency. As we were leaving the owner saw us and never acknowledged the situation. In short, good food-horrible experience. We feel the owner should have tried to...

Just wanted to give a shout out to Guppy's!! Mrs Stanton and I had dinner here last Saturday. I have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences we've had locally. We felt very safe, the host and wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The wait for seating and even our drinks and food was was minimal. Beer and cocktail choices were excellent and creative and so was the food!! Everything was served hot and there was more than enough! Ordered an app, but next time dessert 😊 The homemade white Russian chocolate cake filled that bill. 😉 Great job to Guppy's given all of the challenges of the restaurant business these days!!

I really like Guppy's, so I've been here a few times. They have a few unique appetizers but the majority of the the menu is Italian. Depending on the time of year they also have a few specialty dessert and special entres. Every time I've been here they have had plenty of staff. They are attentive when it come to getting people seated and everyone is always extremely friendly. They have an excellent beer selection and outdoor seating that available. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars was because of their prices. Given the location, on the road the circumnavigates the Lake I suppose it should be expected, but there's no view of the Lake and it literally sits right on the road. If the prices were more inline with the other local restaurants away from Bemus Point or if they even had lower prices in the off season I would eat here...
