Elma Towne Grille — Restaurant in Town of Elma

On a quiet Thursday we went to the bar to order a few beers and some dinner. Before we even sat down the bartender said ‘whatdaya want?’ From around the corner of the bar. We realized she was talking to us and I asked ‘what 42N beer is that on tap?’ She said ‘I dunno know the names, it starts with a B’. I said ‘oh it’s Borderland I’ll have that and my friend said I will too. She was annoyed we sat down and ordered, and the slammed 2 beers at the back edge of the bar on front of me and walked away. I handed the other beer to my friend and immediately decided we weren’t eating there. We should have walked out. We drank the two beers and that’s when she asked from around the corner again ‘do you want something?’ I said no. It was not busy. There were 3 guys at one end. A man eating dinner and then one couple walked in and sat at a table. Her demeanor was awful and although I have been here many times, I don’t think I will be back. One more note, please clean the greasy fingerprints off the cooler windows. It’s terrible to look at. We got there and the hostesses didn't acknowledge our presence when they had walked past us a few times. Not even a we'll be right with you. We ordered Onion Rings for an appetizer, they were great and got a big portion. It went downhill from there. The fish fry my wife ordered was soggy and the baked potato tasted like it was sitting around for a while and then reheated. I got the BBQ Meatloaf which was terrible. On the menu it was described as being topped with cheese and bacon. It wasn't, it was smothered in cheese and had 4 strips of bacon thrown on top of the 2 thick slices of Meatloaf. All I could taste was cheese and there was a weird taste behind it. So I peeled back the cheese and realized that it was extremely greasy. So much so that it left a layer of grease on my fork and it was a very unpleasant texture due to the grease. I couldn't even eat it so I sent it back and opted for the French Onion Chicken. That was terrible also. The chicken and the breadcrumbs had no seasoning what so ever which left it with no flavor at all. The service was very good and they did try to make it right with us. Waited for 5 minutes to he seated while 2 waitresses walked past the hostess stand multiple times. After finally being seated, our drinks were ordered and brought and we weren't looked at for 15 minutes while another waitress walked past, taking care of other tables. We put on our jackets about to leave when a different waitress came over and made an excuse of why our waitress never came over. Apparently, she was having difficulty with another customers credit card- causing her delay for 15 minutes to not take our order... we decided to stay and order (although we should have left) and were informed that the special that we were interested in was out.. so we picked other dishes instead. The meatball and sausage with pasta was underwhelming and a tinned sauce was the flavor permeating the dish. They started that if we were unhappy with it we could return it but they would charge for the soup and salad instead. Unfortunately the soup and salad bar was $1 iceberg lettuce and unappetizing toppings. We ended up ordering French fries (because it's hard to mess that up completely) cooked in and tasted like old grease and will not be returning to this...
