Town Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Erin

I am originally from the Southern Tier but left thirty years ago. While home for the holidays I asked who was serving up the best wings these days, Elbow Room or Bernie Murrays, I was surprised to hear both places have fallen and are hit or miss at best. A friend said, its a drive but try the Town Tavern so my wife and I went and found the pub, the atmosphere was ok, lots of people having fun. There was a GREAT BAND playing called Major Big Time and they really rocked the house and had people dancing and drinking up.

We came for the wings and ordered, I got dozen with the house sauce and my wife was tempted by the Bacon Double Burger. After a short wait the food arrived and oh... my.... gawd..... the wings were absolutely HUGE and meaty (the Cincinnati area could learn a lesson or two here) and cooked to crispy perfection, the house sauce was amazingly good, not too sweet, not too hot but they found the spot right in the middle and it was absolutely delicious. My wife loved the double bacon burger, saying the patties were perfectly cooked and the bacon was exceptional.

I 've eaten a lot of food from the tavern and today the wings my wife and I got from there were terrible . They were dry due to being over cooked . The celery was good but the blue cheese was bad . I know that the tavern can do better than that and has always but something about today was really off . I thought about calling but that would make me out to be the bad guy out here in our neck of the woods . I hope in the future they do better and in their defense the cook didn't seem to be paying very much attention as to what was going on in the...

We love this place! We have lived in Erin for almost 3 years now and have tried most of the menu! Whether its to go or to dine in, we are always more than satisfied and have never been disappointed. When guests are in town, always enjoy a meal with them at the tavern as well! None of them left disappointed either and when they come back they look forward to another meal there! Absolutely worth the stop!!!!!
