Frans Landing — Restaurant in Town of Erwin

Amazing place just over the state line into New York State. My husband and I were taking my Mother-in-law(I call her Mom also) to dinner, we were up in PA visiting her. She talked about this restaurant and we figured we would try it. First we got there at 7:45pm and they close at 8pm but when we walked in to see about possibly take out or something, they told us to come in and sit down to eat. They have specials for each day and Mom loves their Chicken Parmesan but that is on Thursday and Saturday, we were there on a Tuesday😳 Our server said that they could make her a Chicken Parmesan but would have to use pizza sauce instead of a marinara and would have to substitute the pasta with a baked potato. Mom was delighted with what they offered to do and she said it was delicious😋. My husband got a Swiss and Mushroom burger and let me tell you, he had to cut it because even he couldn't get his mouth open that big😂. I chose the Tuesday night Pot Roast dinner, the roast was so tender that it honestly melted in my mouth and the gravy was to die for. We did decide to get dessert, they had an amazing array of choices available. Mom got the Brownie with ice cream, my husband got Coconut Cream pie and I chose the Banana Cream pie. This place even rocked their desserts. The portions were a nice size for dinners and dessert, everything was delicious and the people were so nice and willing to accommodate Mom's wish for the Chicken Parmesan dinner on a night that it wasn't the nights special. Met and talked to the owner and he was also friendly and we all talked for a bit even though they had been closed for about 45 minutes. Our plan was to arrive at 430. We arrived at 420. The parking lot was packed but there was still room. By the time our food arrived, the wait list was full. Some people were leaving while others were sticking around. We got our usual fish fry. The only thing I could complain about was they didn't give a slice of lemon with the fish. I got fries with my fish and coleslaw and my partner got onion rings. Now...nothing looked or tasted as if it was fried in oil. Also, everything looked charred but tasted wonderful. The onion rings looked burned but melted in your mouth. The fish, the fries and the onion rings all had a wonderful crunch but were NOT overcooked. I cannot wait to go back to try another nightly special or one of the other many meals that came by our table that also...

I love it there. I am treated like one of the family! I love the atmosphere... one of caring, affirmation and acceptance. I love to read all the sayings on the walls and see all the pictures and displays. They are so life-affirming and pleasant. The staff are all so kind and friendly. God bless them all. This place also supports the wider community of Addison, especially in times of holidays when there are events to help feed the poor and hungry.
