We were excited to try this place after checking out the menu online during our drive home from Upstate. The dishes looked fresh, and although a bit pricey, we figured the portion sizes and quality would justify the cost. Ordering online through Toast was simple and smooth, as weāve used it many times before. Our order was ready on arrival, and the staff was friendly.
We chose to dine in rather than eat in the car, and the dining area was clean, and spacious ā a nice surprise.
Unfortunately, the food didnāt quite live up to expectations. While everything looked appealing, the flavors and portions left a lot to be desired. The tacos, which were $20 for three, were shockingly small ā more like amuse-bouche than a main dish ā and the toppings were almost nonexistent. The menu mentioned pickled red onions and microgreens, but what we got was a single sliver of something green (the size of a blade of grass), and a small pickle slice. No red onions in sight.
The Pad Thai appeared fresh but was lacking in flavor ā it just didnāt have that savory, balanced punch the dish typically delivers. The Twosome Beef Baguette was flavorful, but again, quite small for the price. As for the āspicyā fries, they were coated in something red (possibly paprika?), but had zero heat and very little flavor ā a big letdown given the name.
Overall, while the experience was fine in terms of service and atmosphere, the food felt overpriced for what was delivered, both in portion size and taste. We really wanted to love it, but sadly, it just didnāt...
Read moreThere are lots of kosher restaurants that open for the summer season to serve the influx of summer residents, and Crunchies has been my go-to favorite for years. Not only is their food consistently excellent (in taste and presentation) and reasonably priced, but it's fun and fresh and obviously prepared with care. There's something for everyone on their menu -- from standard kosher fast food options to custom salads, poke bowls, and pad Thai, to their Thursday pre-Shabbos extravaganza including five kinds of cholent and chopped liver/sautéed liver combo. Plus, they are the only summer restaurant that delivers beyond the small radius where the summer folks Iive. I am a full time Catskills resident, and whenever possible I prioritize patronizing the establishments open all year, but Crunchies offers food we can't get locally all year, and I look forward to Crunchies every summer (and stock my...

I came with my family on a night where I can honestly say there were 100's of people going through the restaurant. And yes, the line to order was a bit long and some people were having trouble ordering on the tablets, but the overall experience was amazing. Once my order was placed the food was ready in a very reasonable amount time for the crowd. (I would say about 15-20 minutes.) The food was plentiful and delicious. The staff there was amazing! š Despite the crowd, I did not see anyone get flustered, I even got serviced with a smile! Lastly, their prices are very reasonable as...
