Great Outdoors Supper Club — Restaurant in Town of Farmington

When people read reviews such as Chris Feavel's they know that there has to be another side. Here it is. As the owner I will comment on the most obvious mistruths spoken by this patron. The server, Jessica, that he speaks of still works by us. And yes she is awesome, as I think all of our staff is. This patron is correct that we would not substitute the Chicken Apple Pecan Salad for his starch and choice of soup or salad. He did not offer to pay an upcharge, as a matter of fact he insisted that we substitute it. The server simply relayed the message to this patron, from that point on they treated their server with verbal abuse and rudeness. Don’t blame a server for something they have no control over. This patron purposely went to the bar to get his own Bloody Mary because he felt that the server wasn’t getting it fast enough (which why would you get that particular drink, if you supposedly heard someone complaining about it earlier?) This patron continued to loudly use the “f” word through his visit. The 4 men he speaks of were only 3. And they came up to the hostess station after they were done eating and said “if they were the owners, they would have thrown them out much sooner”. The other couple that they speak of called me to their table after this couple left and thanked me for confronting the couple for their rude behavior. She said that she was just about to say something to them about their rude and vulgar behavior before I came out to deal with the situation. This customer never asked their server for water, she just went to the bar to get her own (ONCE, not twice). An obvious attempt to make the server look bad. Being upset about a restaurant not complying with your request does not give a patron the right for bad behavior. This patron was loudly using the “f” word repeatedly, while other guests and their children were trying to enjoy their meal. But he fails to mention all of this in his review. I am glad to hear that this patron will never return, because they will not be welcomed. I have never seen such a display of rude and vulgar behavior in all of my years in this business. My boyfriend did the online waiting list for my birthday dinner to try and make sure everything went smoothly and I was really looking forward to trying a new place. Sadly that happiness was short lived. There was only 1 server for the entire restaurant and once additional tables came in she quickly became overwhelmed. And while I try to be supportive of all wait staff as I have family in the industry I also do not agree with ignoring tables and making them flag you down for water and or another drink order and then having to tell her to take the drinks back when she finally brings them when you have finished eating already and have been sitting there with nothing in front of you for the last 10 minutes while she has walked by your table multiple times. And then you have to ask for the bill and wait again to then be charged for the drinks she took back and to be told she would take them off your bill but then o ly takes the 2 cheapest drinks off your bill. Sadly this wasn't caught before we left and started home as she stood over my boyfriend while he was trying to review everything and cash out. As we were not the only table that didn't get additional drinks that were ordered and cancelled due to the delay, I really hope they checked their receipts better than we did (our fault). I did call and talk with who was supposed to be the manager to express our issues and share that if they are only going to have 1 server working they should definitely figure out a better system. Since we do not live close and already on our way home there wasn't much to be done. But folks need to be aware of potential...

Update: this is our favorite place. We love the food, the staff, the atmosphere, it's just amazing. Recently went and had a new addition to the menu. Chicken cordon bleu. I have to say it was probably the best I have ever had. That chicken was so crispy and the filings were delicious. I would be remiss not mention the amazing old fashioned. Every time we go there we make new friends. You can sit at the bar and everyone is so friendly. It's the way a neighborhood Dinner Club should be. Always a wonderful experience

What's not to like??? Wonderful experience. Went for a Friday night fish fry. A little busy, but that means it's good. And it was. Had the fried cod. What a deal. You could definitely tell this was homemade breading, super crispy, fried to perfection and very generous. The potato pancakes were chewy, and gooey and crispy. I honestly cannot believe the amount of food we got for the price. Some other places charge up to $5 more for this type of plate. We left so satisfied, very full and ready to come back. heard the shrimp was just amazing. The service and the staff were definitely top-notch....
