Hugo’s — Restaurant in Town of Florence

My wife and I stopped into Hugo's for the first time today, I was very happy to see a sandwich shop back in Florence since Sub Slingers went away. Upon entering the bright, happy and modern decor was very welcoming and was a drastic change from what my wife called a Harry Potter looking Post Office. Inside they had a large crowd of folks in for ice cream. However, we were there for the Submarine Sandwiches, and once the crowd cleared a bit we went up to put in our order. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was blown away by the size, quality and insane value. The Whole Sub is a beast of a sandwich especially with 3 meats. Everything was fresh and large and had real ingredients. lots of fixings, cheese and sauce choice. I promise you you could not make this sandwich at home for less. Amazing addition to Florence. They sell Chocolate Shoppe ice cream, which in my opinion is the best ice cream out there. They rotate the flavors often and the prices are very fair. Also they have a bunch of non-dairy flavors (oat-based) which is great for people who can't have dairy. The non-dairy ones taste great, too. Excellent sub sandwiches -- they are massive! A half sandy can be eaten for 2 meals by most. The owners are genuinely nice people and the interior of the place is clean and inviting. I haven't tried the Chicago dogs yet but I've heard those are great too. Stop by if you're going through town and I'd say it's even worth a trip...

I’m lactose intolerant and my grandfather told me about this place so when I was in Florence we came in. I have never had lactose free ice cream that actually tastes good before. And this was better than good with their oat milk ice cream.

The atmosphere here was like a cozy time capsule. The staff was polite and the owner or manager came out to chat with us and make sure everything was going well. I feel like they went above and beyond for customer service. The serving sizes so generous I thought i accidentally ordered a double instead of a single, and priced very fairly.
