First time at this little gem in the heart of the Adirondacks was a pleasant surprise. Heading home after a few days in Old Forge we pulled in for lunch. Covid restrictions closed off every other table, but it didn’t detract from the cute ADK decor. Patrons are greeted by a chalkboard with the day’s specials and then choose any open table or seat at the counter. We were greeted promptly by the waitress who reviewed the specials and took our drink orders. Looking at the menu we were pleased to see that breakfast is always available. When we ordered the server was informative and helpful, explaining that the optional hand cut fries are made to order, that the cook made big (aka HUGE) burgers because it’s what he would want as a patron. My grilled cheese with tomato and bacon was more of a bacon sandwich, loaded with delicious crispy bacon on rye bread that looked freshly made. Simply delicious! My friend’s turkey club was made with fresh sliced turkey breast, served with a large portion of hand cut fries and not for someone without a big appetite. We both had difficulty finishing the generous portions. Great service, delicious food, generous portions in a comfortable atmosphere. I’m looking forward to stopping by again in three weeks on my drive...

Nice to still find a diner that serves real food. There are some other restaurants on 812 and Rt 12, but some have odd hours and days that they are open.
The food was good, eggs were cooked to order. Ham was a generous slice, good coffee. Home fries were cooked a bit fast. Even though they were browned nice they were a little bit colder than they should have been.
This diner has the same problem that nearly every other diner down the Rt 812 - Rt 12 corridor between Harrisville and Utica has. NONE of these restaurants accept credit cards.
While nearly every diner has an atm, in my opinion it is nearly unheard of for businesses to not accept credit cards in this day and age. To add the cost of using the atm into the bill along with a good tip makes for an expensive meal.
Considering all of the options for accepting credit cards and debit cards anywhere with smart phone such as PayPal, Square and several others. It would seem in the best interest of their customers to offer the option for electronic payments without getting burned for an...

I am a burger fanatic, but rarely get bacon on them (I like crisp not burnt bacon)... but last weekend I decided to try their crisp bacon because everything else has always been great... and that bacon was literally the BEST crisp bacon I have ordered in 5 decades!
Stop in at a great diner, try a new dish - it'll be great ... and if you also have a camp that could use some decor ... there are quilted "campy" wall hangings for sale. I quilt and would be happy to say i made them. I didn't, but they are well made and a piece to be added to your own camp, or home.
Also, I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here ... you can't miss...
