Forestport Diner — Restaurant in Town of Forestport

Food was ok. I ordered fish, sweet potato fries and mac salad. My husband ordered the Daves Ranch burger with sweet potato fries. The fish was decent sized, but was super greasy and soggy. I took the breadding off and ate just the fish which was ok. The mac salad was edible but nothing to write home about. There fries portion eas small. Again theu were ok but just typical premade frise that were super greasy. My husbands meal was not worth the price. It was a premade frozen patty with some cheese and onion ring on it. It was ok. He had a small portion of greasy/soggy fries. Again, ok meal but not worth the price. The waitress was very nice to us tho. But we ended up eatingboutside because there was a smell that was causing my to have a headache. Honestly it sorta smelled like cat pee really bad. Loved that it was in an old house but needed updated and cleaned better...

Stopped for a family breakfast for six on a weekday. Waitress brought lukewarm coffee, then went on her way to work the other customers. It was fairly busy, so her taking ten minutes to come back was OK. Ordered pancakes, eggs and bacon. Pancakes came out stone cold and tough (hard to cut into pieces); they were so cold they wouldn’t even melt the butter. Eggs and bacon were OK. The donuts are really good; we took a half-dozen home with us. All in all, I would never come back. How can a country diner screw...

I have always loved little diners. The friendships that start and endure in them are throwbacks to another time, so when a present day diner makes customers feel this way, it gets 5 STARS from me. Go for the fun of it. Go for the delicious food. Go for server Delaney because she is a treasure!
