I havent even eaten there and will not just based on this experience alone.
On thr way to Enchanted Forest- over an hour drive with a 4 yr old with stomach issues... said he really needed to use the bathroom and we drove for a while looking for something on the way. We had no choice but to pop in here and see if we could use the bathroom (I was going to buy a coffee for my wife after but changed my mind). Walked in... looked around for the bathroom before seeing anyone, and atarted just heading there. A face pops out of the kitchen and didnt greet me or anything- But I am a server and i guess its in me these days to greet first, I said "Hi how are you? Just wondering if i could use your bathroom for my little guy here...". She said "YUP." with a snarky tone... "right over there" - the way i was headed. And before she grts back into the kitchen she says "There we go, first one of the day"... as if i was the worlds biggest inconvenience.
If they get people in there to use the bathroom often and are bothered by it... perhaps they should put a sign on the door. I assumed its common courtesy to show appreciation by at least grabbing a drink but after that... no way.
I'm sure my personal refusal of business wont effect or bother them- its a booming business going up that way in the summer time... But people need to realize that treatment of customers or POTENTIAL customers leaves a lasting effect. First impression is a lasting impression.
Ill make sure to go to Campbells diner every time from now on, where last year we were treated with upmost welcome and kindness when we popped in on the way home for the same reason (for an adult) to use the restroom. Ended up ordering food and hangin' a while.
Such a shame to put such a bad taste in someones mouth over...
Read moreSo - the rave reviews are real. What a remarkable establishment! We visited, mid-morning, on a Tuesday while returning from Old Forge. We stopped, on a whim, and what a pleasant surprise it was! When we entered, the place was full and our party of 4 sat at a 6-top table. What became quickly evident was that the whole establishment was being run by a husband-and-wife team plus their young son helping. The woman was working the dining room and the husband in the kitchen. Their son was helping bus tables. I have never seen anyone work so hard and so efficiently in the dining room. Tip-top service from 1 person in a with a full dining room. Consider me beyond impressed!
Now, the food. Yep, you got it...everything was fantastic. A western omelet, an order of eggs Benedict, a stack of pancakes and Adirondak waffles all nailed to perfection. I had the Eggs Benny - they were perfectly poached, just the right amount of salt from the bacon and a spot on hollandaise! Hash browns were crispy and delicious.
SeaSons - is plainly awesome - clean, warm, welcoming. Great food, portions and prices. I cannot wait to...
Read moreI'd give this restaurant 10 stars if I could. I'm a regular now, and really enjoy everything that I eat there. Everything tastes amazing, and nothing is prepared wrong in any way. The prices of their food are low, but the quality (and quantity) are extremely high. I tell people to order whatever looks good on the menu, and that they won't be disappointed, and their feedback is always that I was right. Given a choice, this is the restaurant that I will go to within a 25 mile radius every time. I hear that they also do catering and I wouldn't hesitate a moment to hire them for that purpose. One of the best parts is that they are family owned, so you know that your money is going directly to people and not a big corporation or...
