Okay So I almost didn’t even want to post this review because this is a little hidden gem and I’m afraid that it will become too busy ha ha
Yet it is deserving of a five star review.
I have a client right up the street from them every Wednesday. And I drove by and I saw their little sign that says “clam specials on Thursday nights”.
Being the little neck clam lover that I am, I thought well, let’s just check it out.
The outside of the building is Unassuming but don’t let that make you drive by because inside is so adorable. They also have a nice outdoor patio. Also, you may think where do I park but there’s plenty of parking in the back.
We arrived around 630 and it wasn’t packed. We found a very cute table and had the best service. I think Jacob was his name. The bartender was extremely friendly and said hello when we came in and goodbye when we left.
We had four dozen orders of clams each. And also the calamari. The little necks Were so clean and so sweet. And they are only six dollars a dozen on Thursdays I mean, wow. They are the little tiny little necks which are absolutely the best ones!
Only negative I can think of is that they don’t serve real drawn butter. I can understand why because butter is so expensive nowadays I might just have to bring a couple sticks and ask them to melt them lol
I ordered a glass of wine and it was a real pour. Any wine drinkers out there will understand what I mean by that because sometimes you order a glass of wine at a restaurant and it’s like three sips.
My son ordered a bottle of beer and it was ice cold.
We took a look at the menu anyways just to kind of see what they had And their Italian entrées sound absolutely delicious.
They also have a really long bar so if you’re the type of people that like to eat at the bar, there’s adequate seating. And they have those good type of barstools with the backs on them. We chose to sit at a table however I do notice those types of things. Tables have black linens on them with paper placemats so that kind Of elevates the atmosphere. Kind of brings some warmth yet the paper placemats serve their purpose as an atmosphere of coziness and comfortability. So elegant feeling. yet not stuffy.
I would absolutely place this spot...
Read moreThe following is not an exaggeration, nor any sort of 'hate',, just brutal Honesty! - As always my wife and I, decided to drive 21 minutes out of Utica and go to the Brass Tack in Frankfurt,NY. Atmosphere seemed pretty decent, thus the 2 stars, I mean live music, that's worth 2 stars all day. We ordered a Pepsi, water, and lemonade. The water was...just didn't taste like just water. Then our complimentary bread came on a plastic serving basket that needed a scrub BADLY! I mean I wouldn't serve anyone with that at my house, so I don't think a "restaurant" should neither. Okay, and the silverware was not clean, my wife scraped a piece of food off her fork. [Strike 1]- Our small empty plates come and he drops them individually, mine has smashed food all over it, and he's walking away, my wife called him back and he apologized and rectified the situation by bringing clean plate over. [Strike 2] - we just arrived, only bread and drinks on table, and we go to the bathroom. When I return there is an extremely filthy rag in front of my spot on the glass table. I kindly asked her to remove it, we had just ordered, and she apologized removed it, but didn't wipe the table off, instead brought me 2 napkins to do it myself without any disinfecting agents..? [Strike 3] - Our dozen clams come, and the waiter spills clam juice all over my shorts, apologizes while committing the same atrocious act again. At this point, we ordered the $16 clams came and 3 drinks. I placed $30 on the table and quietly left. Once outside I met the owner and explained the situation and my grievances, he offered a gift Certificate to his credit. But I paid for food I didn't even eat, obviously a gift Certificate is not the viable solution. Employees should have been called out to explain themselves and frankly, my wife and I both owning separate businesses, an example would have been made with a termination. Then again, issues like those raised are not indivudual employee problems, nor poor management, but poor ownership; by speaking with the owner, I concur with that statement. DO NOT EAT HERE, VERY VERY UNSANITARY (100% Honesty...
Read moreAs someone who’s gluten intolerant, coming to small, local places like this are often nervewracking and usually end up with me sitting out the meal itself and just hanging out with everyone else while they eat. My family insisted on coming here for their Easter brunch though, so I tagged along since I was visiting from school in Albany. I can’t overstate how grateful I am for how accommodating they were. I was prepared to sit out and pick something up on the way home, but when I asked if there was anything I could have, the staff was so kind. They told me what I could have from the buffet, and even brought me extra slices of ham from the kitchen that hadn’t been put in gravy yet so I was safe to eat them. They asked if everything was okay while I was eating and if I had enough. I was so grateful they had anything at all I could have, and they were so nice about accommodating me that it didn’t feel like I was being a burden. Thank you guys so much for everything!...
