So we went twice one more after the next a couple weeks ago. I’ve been meaning to get around to a review. We were originally heading to The Village Pizzeria down the road but it was closed. Our 1at night we got tatar kegs (very good, it’s what we went back the 2nd night for) and we both got the open faced roast beef. It was luke warm and fatty but tasty so we didn’t complain. Our waitress was great. Purple haired girl whose name I don’t remember. Now to our second night. We came back because those tatar kegs were fantastic. Our waitress was poor. When we got the tatar kegs we got the cheese in little plastic to go containers which my husband mentioned bc it was more than half less than what we’d gotten the night prior. It came in a bowl with enough for the kegs. She looked at him like he was stupid and walked off. We also ordered dessert. I had the tiramisu and he had a peanut butter pie. I had asked the waitress about how big the tiramisu was. She didn’t know but was willing to go look. That took about 10 minutes. She came back to tell us she couldn’t really describe it. I ordered it anyway. It came out and my mouth almost hit the floor. His is a frozen Marie calendar pie piece and I do mean frozen but decent size. Mine? Yea it’s a square 2inX2in and absolutely neither was fresh made. It’s something you’d buy in the freezer section at Walmart. Which wouldn’t be horrible if it was priced for that. $8 and $9 if I remember correctly. We waited for quite some time for our check and then again for them to run the card. I’ve read the “owners” responses to the reviews and frankly that was gross. I will say she’s right, there are plenty of local businesses that care enough about the people who choose to spend their money there. That’s what we will choose to do and will recommend to our friends and family. Also, when you said your desserts are fresh and homemade by locals I laughed out loud at the audacity of that lie. I know for a fact the desserts we got are not. I get that your snarky attitude towards people who have given bad reviews of your restaurant have been tolerated to this point but keep in mind the internet is forever and social media has shut down better businesses than yours. Also, you said you would have liked these people to addressed the issues at the time if their service but by reading all your responses I can’t imagine you or your staff would have treated them any better in person. Have the day...
Read moreThis was my first (and probably last time) eating at this restaurant. My fiance had eaten here years ago and said it was good so she took me here for my Birthday dinner on 3/8/24. So for the atmosphere it's small, crowded and loud. The service was OK, not top notch but not terrible. Now for the food. I don't think there is anything that was made fresh. We ordered the spaghetti and MEATBALLS for her son, he got a bowl full of spaghetti and ONE MEATBALL. My fiance ordered tbe prime rib with lobster 🦞 tail. The prime rib was cooked to order, but half of it was FAT!! The lobster was cold when it came to the table. For myself I ordered the seafood platter. The fish was nothing more than a processed patty, the shrimp 🍤 was greasy, which I have no idea on how that happened. We ordered a slice of apple crumb pie to bring home. I was really hoping it was homemade, but it is straight out of a box. Like I said I don't think there is one made fresh item on the entire menu. For $112 I expect more. Very expensive for the quality. I've spent $150 at other restaurants but it was well worth it. C&R is nothing more than a diner. So disappointing for a first visit.
UPDATE AFTER C&R RESPONSE 3/11/24: #1 Your menu says SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS!!! #2 Your response reads more like an advertisement than it does an actual response. So you serve 1000+ guests a week and this server remembered us? I don't believe that for one minute. I stand by my review!! I'm not going to go back and forth, I know homemade apple crumb pie, and what we got was NOT close to being homemade. I wish you luck and continued success with the locals, for me it was my first...
Read moreWe have been going to C&R for awhile and the wait staff knows who we are just by us going there. My husband and I have this one waitress that does not like us for whatever reason. She's older short hair. The first time she waited on us my husband's bacon burger was burnt and when my husband addressed it she was mad and never came back to our table. The second time she was rude slow and she handed us the check holder without anything in it. We'll shocker my husband addressed it with her and our check was in her hand. Tonight we went there and the lite turkey that I ordered was pitiful it was served with barley a scoop of dressing and a very thin piece of turkey not even enough to cover the dressing. My minestrone soup had chili powder in it. My husband ordered a bacon cheese burger well done it was served to him raw. When my husband asked to speak to Barry well Barry came out with an attitude sticking up for this pathetic waitress who wrote down medium well bacon burger which my husband has never ordered anything medium well. Barry was very rude to my husband. This was a restaurant we frequent at least twice a week since we lost our home to a house fire. Rebecca is a wonderful waitress and she would get a 5 star. We will not be going back to this restaurant because of the decline in customer service and...
