Found this place by accident on Friday July 6 after our original choice restaurant was closed for holiday. Left after waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food! There was a party of 10 and a couple of 1 and 2 person parties already in dining room when we arrived at 5 and were seated with menus and silverware. Helper quickly brought us water and bread basket. After waiting several minutes for waitress and not even seeing a waitress, we asked helper as we thought maybe we had to order ourselves somewhere. She said she’d send waitress over. Waitress appeared and took our order and my name on a long strip of paper. She said she was busy with the 10 person order and help ourselves to salad bar. Dining room filled up with 2, 3 and 4 person tables. Every time the waitress came from kitchen with an order, we expected it to be ours but it was served to 10 person party. We noticed their orders came out over. 20 minute period. We knew we were the next party that should be served. At 6 o’clock, an hour after we arrived, we called waitress over and asked status. She was surprised to learn we had been there for an hour. She said they had been busy with the 10 person order and take out business. I would expect seated customers shouldn’t have to wait for take out orders to get priority. There were no orders coming out of kitchen to anyone in the restaurant! The helper cleared our salad plates and attempted to take our silverware. When I told her to leave the silverware because we hadn’t eaten, she was surprised. At 6:15 we told waitress we had to leave and she apologized. We left a dining room with approximately 25 diners just sitting waiting for food, and they were still seating more customers. I’m hoping this was just an off night, perhaps missing cooks due to holiday weekend or illness but we...

We stopped by while visiting the Syracuse area. The dining area has a nice down-home country feel. The staff and owners are amazing. Everyone was friendly and checked on us frequently! I can not remember the last time I went out to eat and was checked on more than twice by staff at other establishments.
I was torn between three steak options, one being prime rib. We were provided honest feedback that they were down to the two end pieces of prime rib for the night, so ill be dissatisfied if I wanted rare or medium rare and suggested I pick something else. I much prefer honesty over a subpar steak.
I went with a rare delmonico and was extremely satisfied. The mashed potatoes were homemade with skin and some lumps the way it should be. Not some liquid potato puree from a bag like the chain restaurants.
The ribs had a great bark, smoke flavor, and moisture! You can taste the difference when BBQ is cooked on real wood. We even had the opportunity to try some brisket after talking BBQ with the owner...talk about meat candy! It's hands down the best brisket I've had at a restaurant, and I'd give it the nod over some of the top back yard brisket I've had as well.
It was a pleasure talking all things pork, beef, and BBQ with the owners. Their passion shines through with authenticity.
What else is there to say? Great food and even better hospitality!
Skip the chains in town and...
Read moreWas first going to try out Daniella’s but fortunately they had a long queue ,so came across Ranchers choice that is only a few minutes down the road. Now, at first wasn’t sure if it was a deli or a diner but why not be both? That didn’t stop this place, we first entered into the deli part but were lead to the diner hall where it was wide open area. There were a few locals on a Friday night and it was nice and quiet to be seated right away as well as being given menus with the specials included. We were offered drinks, bread and a nice salad bar to customize while waiting for the entrees. So we went for their specialty prime rib sandwiches and rancher wings. My goodness the prime rib sandwich with the horsey sauce was delish with a nice cheese pull bliss. It also comes with some fries where it was freshly fried with just the right crisp. Then came the rancher wings, these babies were swimming in a good mild sauce that is mixed with ranch then sprinkled with bleu cheese crumbles on top. I’ll say at this point, it was well worth the visit and to come again another day. The service was great and the waitress as well as the manager were very positive and welcoming from the very start. So I would like to thank ranchers choice for feeding the craving for a good steak and a new dining experience leading me...
