Just off Route 14 near Geneva, Smokin’ Petes is where your barbecue cravings go to be gloriously fulfilled—and possibly smoked into a food coma. But if indecision at mealtime is your weakness, Smokin’ Pete’s just might be your greatest challenge—and your greatest reward. This unassuming BBQ joint comes packed with so many tempting choices, you’ll wish you had a second stomach (or at least a few more friends to share with).
From smoked meats to loaded sides, wings to sandwiches, and platters piled high with combos galore, Smokin’ Pete’s offers a glorious sprawl of options for the BBQ-lover who wants it all. The menu reads like a checklist of comfort food greatest hits, and the best strategy might just be to close your eyes and point at the chalkboard menu.
We went all in with the three-meat combo—brisket, pulled pork, and ribs—with a couple sides (omg the smoked gouda mac and cheese) and a wing order for good measure. No regrets. The sheer abundance of food meant every bite was an opportunity to mix, match, and revisit your favorites. You get the sense they don’t want you to leave hungry—and trust me, you won’t.
The setting is casual and unfussy, perfect for letting your inner sauce-covered kid shine. Whether you’re a BBQ purist, a sauce sampler, or just there for the mac and cheese, Smokin’ Pete’s makes it easy to build your own kind of feast.
So come hungry, bring a buddy or two, and prepare to make some tough (but delicious) decisions. Smokin’ Pete’s doesn’t just serve food—it serves BBQ abundance in all its smoky,...
Read moreI want to rate it a mid to high 3 but that's not an option so I rounded up.
The service was wonderful, friendly and fast, 5 out of 5. the beer list had a good variety and im not into the dark liquors but they had a nice cabinet with some good presentation with lots of choices.
I would be happy to eat here again but I would not order the same things.
I got the Pete's trio with jc sausage and beans, took a pie home and split a loaded tots with my table.
The ribs, tots and beans were amazing, fully belive the tots won awards and the ribs and beans are in the running for best I've ever had. 6 out of 5
The corn bread was good but was lacking in the butter department, if it was lathered up it would have been great (I admittedly did not ask for more) 3.5 out of 5
I dont think they make the pies to be fair but while it was good the crust was burned. 3 out of 5
The brisket wasn't bad per se but was pretty dry, it could have been the piece of meat but thats their job to recognize and adjust to the meat they got 2 out of 5
I took 2 bites of my whole sausage and threw the rest out. It wasn't worth eating. 0 out of 5
Knowing what I do now I could put together a meal of exclusively excellent stuff and I will be doing so...
Read moreI had never eaten here before today. They had the option of take out or dine in. We opted foe dine in at a comfy booth. I had the 2 meat combo, with brisket and half a chicken. The brisket didn't need a knife to be cut, it was that tender. And the flavor? O!M!G!!!!! It melted in my mouth!!!! The half a chicken, I figured I'd grab the leg bone and pull the whole thing in half. The leg bone popped right out! The bbq sauce on the chicken was absolutely perfect, a tiny bit of heat with amazing flavors. Just like the brisket, the chicken was that tender and that juicy too. Just, OMG all over again. The corn bread that came with the meal had a sweet flavor to it. Seriously, the corn bread felt like I was eating a dessert!! Garlic parm sweet potatoes, I can't wait to come back here for more those next time too! My other half tried the ribs, 1 of which she gave to me. If you haven't gotten the hint already, do I really need to say how juicy, tender, and flavorful that was?!? I WILL come back again to try the rest of the menu, as many visits as it may take. Less than 10 minutes south of Geneva, and worth every second of the drive time to get...
