We went there for their fish fry. Arrived around 4pm, just a few tables were occupied. Sat at the bar, where the bartender wouldn't come over to serve us. Was her shift end. She finally came around, and we order our drinks (one suggestion: smile once in awhile). Our waitress arrive and we ordered calamari, which arrived promptly, very good. Second round of drinks, different bartender, more personable and she smiled. Waitress comes back, we order our dinner, ahi tuna, perch, and salmon. Meals come with choice of potato and side salad or coleslaw. 3 of us had side salads and the other had coleslaw with dinner. For potato choice, 3 had baked potato and the other had hashbrowns. The salads arrived and they were nice size with plenty of toppings. Out of the food, this was the best of the whole meal. The salmon and ahi were overcooked. The 2 yellow perch fillets were about 6-8 inch long and had a lot of bones in them. Could have been a bad order, from a different vendor. Yes, we could have sent them back, but we needed to be somewhere else. As for the waitress, she was always checking up on us. When the bills arrived, there were two total costs, one if using a credit card and one for if paying with cash. We paid cash for our meals. For one couple, the entire meal came to almost $100, including tip. The other couple, it was around $85,...
Read more2 stars only because what good is a great bar on the water when you can't actually stop there in in a boat?! One of my favorite bar/ restaurants on the water. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Great deck. Sand volley ball, Wait staff has always been great. BUT... There's one major problem. It's on the water with floating docks available but the docks are so tall that only pontoons or larger cruisers can safely use them! Docking a 21' aluminum deep V fishing boat, a 20' Ranger, ski boat, small cuddy, jet ski, does not work!! We own a place on Castle Rock lake and would love to be able to dock at Shipwreck's and enjoy it. But the waves will destroy my boat on these docks. They really need to pay attention to the lower docks at the Dirty Turtle which is right next door. I can't help but think, has the owner every wondered why the Dirty Turtle docks are always packed full and there's always docks available here at Shipwreck's? It's just not worth the damage.
I will be back, in my truck, by myself. But if I could dock my boat at your docks, I'd run friends and family multiple times throughout many weekends across the lake to eat, drink, listen to music, play volleyball.... But it's impossible to dock on your docks without damaging! a boat. Bad, really bad dock rash all down the side of your boat isn't worth stopping at...
Read moreFriday, September 2, 7:30 pm. We grabbed a seat at the outside bar and decided to eat there and the bartender asked the host to get us a server. 30 minutes later I went inside and was immediately seated. We sat there for 20+ minutes before a server came over, took out order, never asked us if we wanted a drink. The food came 30 minutes later and our hors d'oeuvre was served with the meal. The server never came back except to give us our bill, took my friends French fries that he was not done eating. She never told us her name nor did she ask us if we wanted another drink or if everything was OK. I went to the bar to get us another cocktail. I would consider this restaurant a supper club with moderate prices. The food was served in a cardboard serving container like at a drive up. With the price the food there things should be served on a real plate not in a cardboard container. I have worked in restaurants for 35 years and this would not of been acceptable service. It all seemed very unorganized and chaotic. We would...
