This place is so disappointing on so many levels. It has the possibilities of being such a great spot on the lake. But, sadly to say it’s so dirty, poor food and not enough staff. First, the inside bar area and screen in porch needs DEEP cleaning. The new outside area shelter looks amazing, but wasn’t open. Next, drinks in cans were warm. The cooler system was down. Who likes warm beer with ice???? Nothing mentioned? Followed by overdone appetizers. Cheese curds had no cheese. Way over done in too hot of oil. Chicken wings way over done again. Same issue. Nachos we ok. Hard to screw up nachos. My husband spoke with the manager and he did give a 50% refund on bill. Major issues need attention. 1. CLEANING! Dirty floors, bathrooms and porch area. So unappealing! Attention to details. I’ve worked in restaurants and this is number #1. We came earlier afternoon and there’s no way it got this dirty from the start of a new day. 2. Training of staff. Duties and job descriptions of what needs to be done. 3. Food prep training of temperatures. Quality control! 4. You have a prime spot on the water and many great amenities for family fun. Pay attention to details. That makes or breaks a business. We went to 5 spots around Castle Rock Lake. Yours was the biggest disappointment. Please take this constructive information and use it to improve. You can turn it around! You have a great deal of money invested.

Discovering Dirty Turtle was an unexpected delight during our Wisconsin visit. The moment the sizzling hot fried chicken wings landed on our table, I knew I was in for a treat – they were exactly how I like them: piping hot and crispy. The variety of sauces surprised us, offering something for every taste, from mild to fiery. Dirty Turtle's wings are undeniably some of the best we've ever had. The cheese curds were equally impressive – golden and crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. The amicable bar staff added to the welcoming atmosphere. Don't miss the outside bar, where you can enjoy a drink with a view of the lake – it's a serene experience that rounds off a perfect meal. What truly impressed us was the dedication of Dirty Turtle's kitchen staff. We were surprised to see the kitchen still working until the last minute on our visit. Someone had arrived just before closing time and placed an order for chicken wings to go. Despite the late hour, the kitchen ensured the order was fulfilled, showcasing their commitment to excellent service. In short, Dirty Turtle has won us over with its exceptional wings, delightful cheese curds, lakeside charm, and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. Whether you're a local or a traveler like us, this restaurant is a must-visit for a memorable experience that goes above and beyond.

While staying in the area from the UP visiting the dells, we decided to go off the beaten path away from the crowds and try something local. The food was about as expected, typical bar food at a great price. The service was less than acceptable. Upon entry, we seen a sign that said free beer with burger purchase. My wife and I both ordered burgers, yet they still tried to charge us for her beer. I don't drink and there wasn't much for NA beer here so I drank water. After we sat down Seany P came and took our drink order and left without offering us a menu. When he brought our drinks out he spilled my sons dr. Pepper and even though he had a rag attached to his hip he made us go to the counter to ask Rachel for napkins. We waited an ample amount of time for Seany P to take our food order, we then again had to go to the bar and place our order with Rachel. Rachel then explained that typically they only take orders at the bar. If you don't do table service then why did you take our drink order at the table and if you really don't want to put out a sign if you dont want to greet us upon entry notifying us of your process. Even though we did most of your work for you, we left you a monetary tip. Here's some advice Seany P. Please spend some time learning some customer service skills.

i have been going to the Dirty Turtle since I was a child. today was the first time i had been there in a few years and i WAS extremely excited to see what they have done to the place! it is forsure gorgeous what they have done but i was less then pleased with my time there today.... every time i went to the bar to order food or drinks i was bluntly ignored by the bartenders. we got ready to leave with my 2 kids once we were done with our food which was average. we found our vehicle parked in by at least a dozen cars, trucks, and trucks with boat trailers. the entire parking lot was overfilled beyond capacity along with the road. there was no management what so ever. once i was able to find the manager in the kitchen i explained what was going on and that i had 2 kids with me. i was extremely upset, nearly in tears because we were hot, had been there a long time, and are now un able to leave for god only knows how long especially because of the people who parked then went onto the lake. the manager followed me outside and went to see what the issue was. i again explained everything and started to get a bit emotional about the situation. he basically blew up on me and thought i was insulting him or the bar i dont even know but he was clearly angry and started to speak in a ruder tone which is when my partner stepped in and told him to chill because we weren't even upset with him just the people who parked us in. it is clear the new owners/managers have a lot to learn. i hope if i decide to come back one day that they figure out how to run things a bit smoother including parking cars especially when they're over capasity for the lot-which clearly affected their business in a negative way today. RIP to the old...

Do not book the cruisin turtle boat! We booked this for my Bachelorette party in April to use last weekend. We booked with Ray who told us the boat would be able to stop at bars along the way and he would set us up with an experienced driver. 30 minutes prior to using the boat we received a call saying the boat can't stop at bars, which wasn't a huge deal but would have been convenient to know earlier. Then on the boat there was shredded cheese and other taco toppings all over the counter and sink. The oven didn't work, which we had planned on using for pizzas for lunch. Our driver was mike, and it was apparent that this was the first time he had driven a boat. He brought us to alcatraz Island and parked very far away telling us it was a short swim until it became shallow. It was not.. very long swim and Mike did not even tell us or provide us with life jackets. While we were at the island, Mike got the anchor/boat stuck and we had to swim back even further than the original swim to the island. He also left the propeller running on the boat while we were climbing to get back into the boat. I was also sea sick the entire time due to the fact he didn't know how to navigate the boat and it was continually rocking back and forth. When back at the bar we were told ray would talk with my sister who booked the boat. He was nowhere to be found. Overall terrible and dangerous experience and would not...
