To the owner, please do NOT bother responding. My opinion is my opinion. Went on Friday to hear the band (we have a relative who is a member). We were a party of five, though three had not yet gotten there. We were told we would have to wait although many many empty tables could be seen. Ok, that's the policy. But is it the policy for the owner to be rude? Not to me, but the person in front of me who was in a similar situation. He told her he comes every week. Her response was "yes and last week you laughed at me" So what was this? Payback? I put my name on the list and we were seated once the other three arrived. We did manage to get our orders in and served before the band started, which was wonderful. Our server was Jeana and we love, love, loved her! Can't say enough about her. I ordered the shaved and seasoned prime rib. It had a very odd vinager-y undertaste so I did not finish it. My husband enjoyed his fish fry. The rest of the table had no complaints. We were there for probably another hour and a half. During this time, at least six or seven tables REMAINED empty while they had many people lined up at the hostess podium waiting. They also do not take reservations, btw. Other relatives not in our group but who were there also for the band, finally gave up and were seated inside. I don't see how their policy encourages people to want to patronize them. The other problem is they do not take payment at the table when you are outside and i still can't tell you where my husband ended up having to go, but it was a LONG process. What would stop someone from just getting up and leaving without paying? I know my husband had an issue with the credit card system taking the tip, so he left cash with the person inside instructing them to give it to Jeana. When he returned and told me this, I found Jeana outside and gave her another tip (mine was over 30% so assuming the people inside actually gave her my husbands, she ended up with more than 50% of the tab,) but she more than deserved it. The location is wonderful and my guess is the rest of the food is adequate but the whole experience left me feeling...
Read moreCharbroil House used to be one of our favorite go-to places for eats, especially for their amazing burgers. After having a number of meals there (especially fish frys) that weren't cooked thoroughly and were served cold, we finally gave up and went elsewhere. That was several years ago, so we decided to give this place another try. They weren't very busy when we got there for dinner recently and we were seated right away. Both the decor and menu have been updated since we were there last. So have the prices, and rather significantly. Our server Rylie brought menus quickly and took our beverage orders. We ordered two burgers with fries. Long story short, the burgers we got were only 6 oz. and our two servings of fries looked like whatever was left over in the deep fryer basket. The burgers were OK, but nowhere as delicious as they used to be. The service we received from Rylie was actually the best part of our meal, but the food portions and overall quality were a huge disappointment and clearly overpriced. With two sodas, the total bill was around $33, way too much for two small-ish burgers that were just OK and two small orders of fries. Pretty sure there are other places in town to get two (better tasting) 6 oz burgers with two full orders of fries and sodas for less money. The young girl who cashed us out said very little, didn't bother to ask how our meals were, or even thank us. So, after yet another poor showing by Charbroil House, we'll show our thanks by not...
Read more7/21/23 Update: major improvements! My boyfriend and I come here every week to have our date night dinner. The great food, atmosphere. service, and friendliness are the things that make us return every week. The owners are great friendly people. There is something for everyone. They also have a little bar room atmosphere which is great for game nights. Many flat screen television's . Outside Tent for those who like to eat out doors. Weekend music events outside in the tent. So constructive criticism is a good thing. Make sure you all come visit and experience it for yourself.
I just notice lately the quality is not as good lately. I know i told the waitress everything was good but reality is gravy was too salty and too much of it. I don't know if it was the turkey or the gravy but it had a off peculiar taste. The potatoes were too mashed. And side dish of coleslaw was in a dipping sauce type cup that cost 2.79. Way too much for cold slaw in a small cup. Yes I did eat all of it because I was hungry since I hadnt eaten all day. I do like this place and hopefully this will be taken as constructive criticism. Other people I know have been also seeing a difference in quality of food. It should be mentioned so improvements...
