Update October 2021: My wife and I met her oldest brother at Tinney's Tavern for dinner. My wife and her brother got the Shrimp Scampi special, it must have been good! Because it was gone before I knew it. My wife got Wolf Hollow Stout and her brother got Frog Alley IPA, which they seemed to like quite a bit. I got the Burrata (soft white cheese) Chicken Sandwich special, which was great! I started with a Wolf Hollow Amber, then I got a Frog Alley Vienna Lager, both of which were very good. It was another great time at Tinney's Tavern for us.
My wife and I stopped here for lunch today (Friday, the day after Thanksgiving 2019). We arrived just as they opened, so we were able to get a great table looking out over the lake. Amanda took great care of us. The food was very good, my wife got the pulled pork tacos and I got the spicy black been burger and a Wolf Hollow (Schenectady, NY) Porter. Yum! It was all good. We had a great family dinner at Tinney’s Tavern, and it’s safe to say we’ll be back! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive — perfect when you’ve got hungry kids in tow.
The decor is charming and unique, with little touches that make the whole place feel cozy and fun. The kids were especially thrilled to get their root beer served in old-school glass bottles — such a fun detail that made the experience even more memorable for them.
The food was absolutely delicious across the board, with generous portions and great flavor. Everything came out fresh and hot, and the menu had something for everyone, kids and adults alike.
Also worth mentioning: the bathrooms were spotless, which is always a big plus when dining out with children.
Tinney’s strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and special — it’s a place where families can enjoy a great meal in a welcoming atmosphere....

A side salad featuring romaine lettuce, not iceberg, made for a great addition. My buddies were very pleased with their salmon and burger meals… oh, and neighboring tables had some great looking meals on them too. Tinney's has some talent in the kitchen.
Our server was most pleasant and efficient. The interior ambiance is excellent, and outdoor seating overlooking Lake Desolation is available. Cap off your visit with a ride northwest on little-traveled Lake Desolation Road, crossing Great Sacandaga Lake...
