Jay's Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Greenwich

This is the second time I’ve ordered from Jay’s. The first time, I called in the order for pick up. I was given a super short wait time, and my interaction at the store took all of 2 minutes from when I was greeted to when I had the pizza in my hands. The second time, I found out they delivered to my address, so I took that route. Again, the wait time was tolerable, even with hunger making every minute drag on. Both times I got a 24 cut, 1/2 ham 1/2 meatball. I would say Jay’s is definitely in my top 10 for good pizza. The dough is the perfect thickness, the sauce is flavorful, and the cheese is the perfect amount of stringiness. It even reheats up nicely the next day, which is a big win for me. Quite disrespected after ordering on a Monday night. Had they been honest they could not keep up with business, would have went elsewhere... not the only restaurant in town. Called after 1.5 hours and was told to, "Make the pizza myself" by an employee that complained about the amount of customers they had to service. Took long enough to get ahold of someone at the counter, not much prioritization for someone just trying to confirm that our food is indeed being prepared. Management said order was on the way, followed by it had 3 more minutes in the oven... (which is it?)

We really like Jay’s pizza. Most of the time the quality of the food is very good, sometimes it is a little over cooked... but it is always the best pizza in town.

I’ll still give 5 stars because employees come and go but, our only complaint is the young fella at the counter. Let’s just say he is NOT exactly a ray of sunshine. I get that working at a pizza shop might not be your dream job, but fake it. He always seems irritated and often has snotty/rude tone. AND it’s not like I caught him on a bad day. It is every time.
