The Country Club at Otterkill — Restaurant in Town of Hamptonburgh

Washingtonville High School Reunion Dinner...the organizers had a Great Concept, and all graduates from many years past were having a great time...a minimal of appitizers and 3 passing items...one passing item was called an Eggroll...I have been in a kitchen for many years and i have never ever had an eggroll stuffed with what I ate and would call a flavorless Bread Stuffing...not stuffed with vegetables, but just unseasoned bread stuffing...dinner time came and table numbers were called to a self serve Buffet style dinner...our table and 3 others were not called...after about 30 minutes I got up and proceeded to serve my partner and myself...problem was no Broccoli Rabe...chicken francese was cold and dry...ziti was full as not many were choosing this item witch had very little sauce and over cooked... The sliced steak was empty...many graduates were waiting ...30 minutes later when the sliced steak came out I took a peice with green beans that replaced the Broccoli Rabe... At the table the green beens were excellently cooked...with no seasoning...the sliced steak cooked perfectly, but could not chew this cut of beef...for sure it was not steak...it was an improper cut of Beef with no marbling for what was being used as sliced steak...it was tough...texture was more like meat from bottom round...all in all the main meal was less them mediocre...I know that the serving staff were short handed and the Country club at Otterkill was having difficulty in the kitchen...with this all explained...I took a personal view that help in general is very very difficult to find in today's service business...with this said...ALL the service help, waitstaff, cleaners, and not counting behind the scenes...I counted 13 staffers on the dining floors with about 200 dinner guests..these young AND intelligent staff were the NICEST... CALMEST... RESPECTFULL...HARD WORKERS...that were NOT PROPERLY TRAINED...but hung in there...MY RESPECT GOES OUT TO THIS YOUNG STAFF...THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO YOURSELVES & YOUR FAMILY...this dinner at " The Country Club at Otterkill" had nothing to do with these servers...or the staff that day...this IS ALL ON MANAGEMENT... Management could have been more TRANSPARENT to the booking...

Erin & Jen were able to take my blurry vision and create the most vibrant, beautiful reality for the bridal shower we threw on 04/23/2022. I hadn’t been to the venue since 2009, and it’s changed since, so attempting to visualise what we wanted based on phone photos between NY and TX was difficult. But Erin’s openness and time taken to chat with me virtually helped me understand that she and her team would be able to take the rawest of materials we bought and put every piece together in the most tasteful way without us having to host a potentially stressful interstate crafting day. She had an abundance of resources and materials of her own to supplement what we had, and didn’t have, to finalise the overall look and feel of the space. I walked into the room and was completely overwhelmed with how gorgeous everything looked. The bride also said it was totally stunning! I could only tell people two things when they complimented me on a job well done: 1. I didn’t do anything; this was all the venue. And 2. I couldn’t have even dreamed this.. The food hit the entire experience out of the park. Erin even made the most gorgeous themed cake for the bride - who’s ever had a peach bellini cake? I have now and I can assure you it was brilliant. All I can say is: ask and communicate, and you shall receive in abundance here at the Otterkill. The success in event planning is always rooted in your ability to communicate with the coordinators. Their ability to nail this based on verbal communication alone from TX to NY is evidence of that. Thank you Erin, Jen, and all the lovely ladies and gentlemen who helped make the bride’s celebration so wonderful! We’ll be raving...

My husband and I just recently got married at Otterkill and I can truthfully say they made our wedding a fairytale. Erin, the wedding coordinator was extremely attentive and trustworthy. She worked alongside me and made every vision I had for the day come true. They had multiple rain plans to ensure my husband and I were still able to have the dream wedding we wanted. The landscape of the golf course added so much character to every photo we have. The sunset, matched with the fall foliage and the greenery of the course made our photos absolutely stunning. Guests were RAVING about the food and the service of the staff. Majority of our guests live in Manhattan and were taken back with how gorgeous this venue is. The staff at Otterkill goes the extra mile to make you feel like family and takes any pre-wedding stress off of you!
