I grew up in the area, used to go all the time with my mom, never in my 21 years have I had a bad experience here, until Saturday night. I just recently turned 21 so my friends and I decided to go get some beers, as soon as we walked in we were discriminated against because of our age, the two female bar tenders told us that the kitchen was closed for the night, which was fine bc we had eaten already, I just thought it was weird they told us the kitchen wasn’t serving food anymore only to serve other people food. My one friend did not want to drink so she got a water and the one bar tender yelled at her because she didn’t have I’d on her (she left it at home bc she knew she wasn’t gonna drink alc.) and then proceeded to talk bad about us to two men sitting at the bar. So the way we were being treated made us want to leave, then as we were paying our tab my good friend noticed that the name they put our tab under on the computer was “youngins”, which is kinda rude, especially after the way they were treating us. As I said I love this place and I love the food, my mom happens to know the owner, so we’ve never had a bad time, but I will NOT being going back there to drink. As paying customers we should not have been treated differently because of our age, how many people we had with us, or if certain people wanted to drink or not. So all in all if you are 25 and under, or not a regular there,...
Read moreI wanted to like this restaurant. After some disappointing local experiences with prime rib, we saw prime rib on the menu here and thought we would give it a try. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder and felt it was one of the best I ever had. Chock full of ingredients with unusually large pieces of clams. The salad was OK, nothing special. Then came the prime rib. A generous sized piece that appeared to be done perfectly according to my request. My friend also got the PR, and was given a good sized end cut which he requested. But then, what a letdown. Both of our servings were among the toughest we've ever encountered. It hurt my teeth to chew. (My teeth are perfectly healthy, lol.) A real disappointment. I should mention, however that our waitress, Sarah was top notch.
I doubt we'll be back. Still searching for that perfect prime rib, like those young guys looking for the perfect wave in that surfing movie years...

Horse and Sulky seems to have shaken the bad review I gave them in early 2021 and kept it off. Everything is amazing and the service is phenomenal once again!
EDIT 8/27/21
Returned for another Friday with some family to give it one last shot and absolutely everything was perfect. The owners truly care and it shows. Hopefully NOTHING changes here ever again it is perfect right now!

Place has gone totally downhill. Friday night service tonight was terrible to say the least. They ran out of food left and right, brought us the wrong beers twice, didn’t bring any beer twice when we ordered it, charged for too many drinks on our tab, and played terrible screamo music the entire time. RIP to our favorite little country joint. The horse and sulky pub as you once...
