Once my favorite Italian restaurant in the Catskills, they expanded over the past decade with stitched on additions to the restaurant but the food and service seems to have suffered. I'm ok with the prices going up, its only normal but I used to get a plate of eggplant Parmesan with home made pasta on a plate the size of a spare tire, now it's more of a football size plate with store bought pasta but still that homemade sauce. Double the price, although still relatively cheap. The last time we went, it took a good 45 minutes for the salad to come out. Another 45 minutes for the 8 dinners to come out 2 at a time with a long pause between them...ended up getting 7 of 8 because the waitress forgot to place an order. That person (me) had to wait another 20 minutes for his dinner while the rest of the table tried to be nice and eat slowly. It was probably an off night where they were short in the kitchen or something but come on, in a situation like that the missing dinner goes to the head of the queue and you put it out in 5 minutes. I'm giving it 4 stars because the food is still good and the garlic knots...worth the trip...
Read moreThe absolute best place to get food from, eat in or take out. Order the shrimp scampi or lemon chicken if you want to experience what I consider the most fantastic meal in the world. If I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life it would be mama Maria's shrimp scampi. The portion size is ridiculous and the amount of garlic they put in is like a dream come true. My family has been eating here for just around 15 years and I don't think we've ever had a bad meal. If you want a great meal that isn't the best meal in the whole entire world try their chicken or shrimp parm over ziti and ask to add mushrooms and onions. Their chicken marsala is amazing. The raviolis are to die for. The antipasto salad is always a fan favorite. The stromboli is no joke. There are so many options and every single thing is delicious. Watch out for the bathroom door though if you chose to dine in I've had some unfortunate situations where the door seemed locked but alas it was not. I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THE GARLIC KNOTS, show up hungry and make sure to snag as many as you can before...
Read moreA friend of mine from work recommended Mama Maria's to me because of their New York City style pizza so I decided to take the family and drive an hour and a half to see for myself. He also mentioned that the wings are excellent and that they still give you 12 for only $13 and some change, (which is definitely rare in Binghamton Ny where I live. We only get 10 here for $16+..😕)anyway, the pizza was absolutely the best New York style pizza I've ever had.👏🏿 The wings were great too. We also tried the Lemon Chicken with Linguini!🤤..I actually really can't wait to try something from there again! It's such an authentic environment and excellent Italian cuisine. I highly recommend Mama Maria's! There's also a really nice park right up the street in the back of the Tops grocery store parking lot that has a playground, picnic tables, benches, basketball courts and a pool! We ate great and the kids had a lot of fun playing on the playground. They're excited about our next visit to Mama Maria's too! To the staff and family at Mama Maria's...
