When you pull up to a place on a Saturday night at dinner time and there are no cars there, beware. Cocktail was $12 and the pour was very light, mostly juice. Didn't get another. 10 wings were $20, we shared an order of garlic Parm and they were excellent. Then it went downhill. One burger ordered medium well was cooked medium, with 1 piece of soggy, undercooked bacon. The other ordered medium rare- also cooked medium, supposed to have bacon but did not. Every one of us got fries and they were all ice cold and not crispy. ($9 for truffle fries that had not a hint of truffle). We told our server about the fries, she was apologetic, but the cook or manager should have come over, apologized, offered us new orders of hot fries or comped us. Nope. House salad was large, but had giant chunks of vegetables that had to be cut up before I could eat it. Pink, underripe, flavorless tomatoes included. Felt bad for our sever, who was new, because she'll never make any tips with an empty dining room. Our bill for 10 wings, 2 burgers, a salad, and 2 mixed drinks was $130 with tip. Ridiculous, for mediocre food and weak drinks. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been meaning to check this place out for years. Itās just down the road and finally made the trip. TBH I went for the truffle fries. But the special was jalapeƱo poppers with raspberry habanero sauce. They were amazing - fried with light breading and a spicy sweet sauce. I had the chipotle burger and was not disappointed. 8 ounce patty with bacon and tomato and lettuce and a nice chipotle sauce. Paid a little extra for the truffle fries and was not disappointed. Topped it off with a a patron margarita. All in all a very nice meal.
The dining room is small, and a bit noisy due to all the wood paneling. Just a few tables and a bar. A couple of Adirondack quilts would absorb some sound and quiet the place nicely. Still, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. The prices may seem high but we want our restaurants to stay in business so no complaints there. Small menu but that is wise from a business perspective, and there are great choices for specials. Seems like a well-run operation. Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself out that way. And worth trip the from Tupper Lake or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly a few people besides us in the place, our waitress told the bar tender we wanted Bloody Mary's, she didn't start to make them for 20 min, she visited with a couple at the bar instead. We received our food before our drinks. The food was good, the Bloody Mary's were not, we couldn't even drink them. Our waitress apologized to us several times, when she saw we didn't get our drinks, and when she saw we couldn't drink them. Won't go back, which is sad because we were excited to try a new place. 1892: yes we did ask for the bloody's to be; one spicy, and one hot, which they were not. Besides that, they were not good like every other Bloody Mary's we have ever ordered in a bar/restaurant. I can't really describe what they tasted like, it was strange. We declined to have them taken off the bill because we...
