This was our second time here. The first time we went it was late in the day and we had just met our Son and his friend after fishing. The staff was friendly enough and the pizza was excellent (we are from queens and feel we know decent pizza... your taste may vary lol) Today was a very hit day and my son and I were fishing nearby and haD my wife and doggo pick us up. We decided to go to the red onion again. The young lady at the counter barked "you cant have the dog here!" With a tone that made me wonder if there was some emergency... there wasn't...possibly she was having a bad day. (And I get that dogs aren't allowed in many places... no problem . But she could have been less attitude-y ) I asked her is there was outside seating. She said I should use the picnic benches by the ice cream place next door... which we did. Not sure if it's the same owners... When I came back in to pick up the pizza and garlic bread, I asked for a cup of water (for the dog). they informed me that they didn't have water and I needed to buy bottled water. At this point i decided they just had poor attitudes. I didn't bother asking them how it was possible to make pizza dough without potable water (perhaps they used bottled water for the pizza... I don't know). The pizza was different this time. It was kind of spongy and the cheese was extra white and had an abnormal texture (best described and more liquid than normal... hard to describe). The garlic bread had the same cheese on it and it immediately oozed off when bitten into. The garlic on the bread was garlic powder...not fresh garlic. Disappointing all around . Not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been ordering pizzaās from this establishment off and on for 30 years. I will never order another. The pizza arrived an hour and a half after ordering. Was it hot? Not so much. I always request a lightly browned bottom crust. On 2-2-24 half of the bottom crust was burnt as were the 10 mild wings. Being the pizza arrived so late (after 730 pm) PBJās for dinner. I took the pizza and wings back today 2-3-24 along with my receipt that indicated light crust as well as do not burn the crust. Showed the young red haired lady the burned pizza and the burned wings. I said I would like a new pizza. Basically her rudeness said TFB you should have called last night. Nothing I can do for you. Well there is something I can do for you, I will never frequent your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāre obsessed with Red Onionās pizza! Every time we order somewhere else we always compare it to Red Onion. So far nothing has topped this place! The crust is amazing, the red sauce is delicious, and they donāt skimp out on toppings.
Iāve seen a couple reviews complaining about the service. The service here is just like the service at any other small town joint. Weāve never had any complaints, but weāve also never gone in there expecting the same service youād get at a steakhouse. Been coming here for over 4 years and never had a problem!
The best thing? Their portion sizes are bigger than other local pizza places for about the same price. Most other places we order a large pizza. At Red Onion we only need to...
