If first impressions are lasting impressions, then AcQua Restaurant and I are going to have a beautiful friendship!
I went with a group of 8 people, driving out from Brooklyn and Queens, to this restaurant and every one said they would definitely return! The food was delicious! Portion sizes were exactly what you'd expect of a family style Italian restaurant. A "full portion" of calamari was able to be shared between four people, and we still weren't able to finish every piece.
A "Full size" portion of pasta was an enormous bowl that was easily split between two people, with more than enough for both!
The "specials" for appetizers and entrees that the waitress told us about were all amazing! The lobster entree is a very large-sized lobster and can be prepared several different ways, including with the addition of clams and mussels (as pictured) over pasta. It is an astounding amount of food!
We also had several of their desserts; Hazelnut chocolate flute, rainbow cake slice, creme brulee cheesecake, tiramisu and a pistachio flute. Everything was exceptionally good! The Hazelnut chocolate flute is a spot-on duplicate in taste for a ferrero Roche chocolate! It was delicious! **Do note that the dessert Flute portion is not as large as the entree and appetizer portions, though quite honestly, you will be too stuffed to want much more than what you get.
While the food, ambiance and outdoor dining were all wonderful and all great reasons to return, it was truly our server Sarah who is responsible for making our stay at this restaurant an experience worth writing about. She was kind, attentive and efficient at her job from the moment we were seated in her section. You honestly don't find many servers like her anymore. Her recommendations were helpful and not pushy, she showed genuine interest in our group, checked on us often and went above and beyond to accommodate us. When we return I'm hoping that we have the privilege of being served by Sarah again.
Well done to the owners! A 'family-style' establishment is only good if the people make you feel like family. AcQua Restaurant definitely...
Read moreWe recently celebrated our son Bennett’s Baptism at Fabio’s Restaurant, and I can say without hesitation—it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked through the door, Fabio and his amazing staff made us feel like family. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care helped make such an important day even more special for our family.
The service was absolutely top-notch. Fabio personally checked in throughout the event, and the wait staff was incredibly helpful, always one step ahead—refilling glasses, ensuring everyone was comfortable, and attending to every detail with a smile.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because WOW. The portions were absolutely generous, and every single dish was a knockout. The baked clams were fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the calamari was crispy, tender, and addictive. The veal parmigiana was rich, cheesy, and fork-tender, and the chicken Sorrento had the perfect balance of flavor—melty, savory, and beautifully cooked.
And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, out came the Napoleon cake. Light, flaky, and delicately sweet, it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. It melted in your mouth and was the perfect ending to a flawless meal.
We can’t thank Fabio and his team enough for helping us create such beautiful memories. Whether you're hosting an event or simply going out for a great dinner, Fabio’s is a true gem. We will...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my recent experience at Fabio’s. From the start, we were shocked to be charged seven dollars for a glass of tap water — not only is that unreasonable, but it was never disclosed to us beforehand. The service throughout the night was disorganized and frustrating. My drink order was forgotten, and when I asked about it, the server responded with an attitude that felt dismissive. We were also told we couldn’t order anything, not even a simple appetizer, until every member of our party was present and ready with their full main course order. When I mentioned that this had not been the case on my last visit, the server flat-out accused me of lying, which was unprofessional and unnecessary. On top of that, we had to close out one tab with our first waiter and then start a new one when we moved tables after my children arrived, which created more unnecessary hassle.
While I can understand that not every server has a perfect day, the overall atmosphere was tense and unpleasant, and some of the interactions we experienced carried undertones that felt discriminatory. The host was kind and welcoming, and I will say the food itself was good, but the poor service, lack of transparency, and heavy ambience overshadowed it. As a restaurant owner myself, I know how important hospitality is, and unfortunately this visit left me questioning if I would...
