The Last Stand — Restaurant in Town of Horseheads

I normally never leave bad reviews but I had a really unpleasant experience at the horseheads location today. I'm sure this was just a one time thing. I see all the great reviews so I'm sure this is not a normal occurrence but I showed up almost exactly at 10am this morning and ordered a latte and a berry smoothie bowl with blueberries and bananas on top. The latte came out in a timely manner and was one of the best lattes I've ever had which is why I'm leaving 3 stars, but 10 minutes after receiving my coffee I went back up to the window to ask about my smoothie bowl. They had not started it yet and the person that ordered about 5 minutes after me had gotten her coffee and breakfast sandwhich and left. When they finally handed me my smoothie bowl it was a very watery consistency and it had only granola in it. It was just a very liquefied smoothie in a bowl. I had to go back up and ask for them to put my blueberries and banana in it. Now I have never been here before so I just kind of assumed a smoothie bowl would be on the thicker side so that you could eat it with a spoon but if im wrong I appologize. I didn't end up leaving the establishment until 10:40 and was 20 minutes late to work. I had left my house early with intentions of being early to work so the fact that it took 30/35 minutes for one smoothie bowl I ended up throwing away because I couldn't eat it in my car was very upsetting. Again I'm not one to complain but as a first impression of a place that is such highly raved about to be so poor...

This was my second time giving this place a chance. I went with my wife the first time and we arrived 30 minutes before they were closing...we were turned away. It's not like they are cooking steaks back there. So this visit we bought normal ice creams for 5 people and rings up to $25+. I don't personally care how towering all of our ice creams were to be honest it makes them nearly impossible to eat. As well I have no issue with the owners young daughter helping out but if there are options that are out for the day.. they need to be communicated. The order was screwed up besides but you know it wasn't even worth addressing. Will not be returning.

Edit: 2024 Despite my earlier review, return we did. I am raising one star as they now offer some unique things and online ordering. However the service has not improved. Waiting 30 plus minutes for drinks just doesn't seem reasonable and although the staff was courteous I feel there are other local options that offer similar, less wait times and...

While the last stand is doing reconstruction because of recent events. They are still happy to serve the community from the outside windows. You can take your order outside and enjoy the space they have available inside, while they make you something delicious. I got a formally called lotus now energy blast the non flavor one ( Power Up), with lemonade and mango tango flavoring, which includes pineapple mango and orange. I love to add popping boba which makes it a nicer refreshing summer drink. My partner always gets a peanut butter monster milkshake and that stands to hold a good rating in the book. Always made with extra peanut butter so every sip of milkshake you get peanut butter, chocolate all at once. Had a great time, you might be standing in line for maybe 10/15 minutes because they are that good. We happened to come when three little league games were going on but it was still served fast and all the kids seemed to enjoy...
