Sinissippi Lake Pub — Restaurant in Town of Hustisford

We have been to SLP a number of times. Most times have been somewhat decent, but not outstanding. This time was a little disappointing.

Our fish fries were okay, but the clam chowder, which the bartender claimed was "some of the best stuff around", was bland. Our bartender poured my wife the wrong beer, and when asked if he accidentally poured the wrong one, admitted he might have because "it had been a long week" working lots of hours at multiple jobs. It was a mistake; no big deal, but we had to ask him if he could pour her the correct beer instead.

The bar had two AC window units, one of which wasn't even plugged in. I'm not sure the other one was on, although it could have been because it was a tad cooler on that side of the bar. However, on the other side, it was very hot and uncomfortable, especially since the bar was packed.

This experience may not stop us from going back, but it is frustrating going to this place only to be disappointed repeatedly. We have been in there often enough to be recognized, but we always seem to walk away feeling as if our business wasn't appreciated because we are not as regular as "the regulars" who are always greeted and treated well when we patronize the...

Update on my review. While I have gone several times for the Tuesday burger special. Have had the fish fry recommended by several people. Finally was able to go to the fish fry on Friday night. It was fairly busy. I sat at the bar. Shortly after my drink order was taken two of the employees apparently decided to go for a smoke break ( from what I overheard from other employees) this resulted in my order being taken but not actually being sent to the kitchen. When first server returned she questioned what I ordered. Food was just dropped off in passing. After check was delivered and I placed my card out was ignored for several minutes until payment was finally processed. Seems like after 7:30 doing other work ( stocking, cleaning, etc) takes priority over serving the customers. I do admit when I did get my food it was fantastic, but the level of service makes me question if I will return.

This is a bar with table seating. It is a smaller place, but quaint, nothing good or bad really stands out about the decor. Although they have a very nice deck with with newer deck furniture.

We shared the fish tacos and chicken wings. Fish tacos were good, the cod was perfectly cooked. The sauce was good, but the coleslaw was only average. It was a messy eat. The wings were great! They were the bigger wings, nice and crispy on the outside and and tender on the inside. The Thai chili sauce was sweet and spicy, just a tad to hot for me but with a beer to tame the heat, it was still really good.

The staff were troopers handling the rush with the 14 people in our group, plus the rest of the already busy room; and the kitchen staff did a great job keeping up with the packed bar/restaurant.
