Nu Restaurant and Lounge at Hyatt Regency Long Island — Restaurant in Town of Islip

We've had great experiences at Nu. It's a quiet spot, usually, and the food is really great. We always get filet mignon or their pork chop, which is fabulous. Their wine list is great, and the service is always top notch. I'm kind of a snob when it comes to service. I like to have great service but also be left alone, which is exactly what they do. The servers have always been attentive and professional. They know what to recommend and can advise you on the menu. I have to repeat. Their food is GREAT! although I do always order the filet mignon. ...

Service was very slow and unattentive. Wait staff were talking about co workers and cursing 2 ft from customers at the bar. I ordered a 44$ short rib meal that showed up cold. I ask for a side salad, it was plain Sprink mix and got charged 11$ should have just got the entree for 16. There was a horrible band playing during my meal but I was told it was from a horror convention they were hosting. If I'm paying 75$ for a bottle of wine and 44$ for an entree I expect more. Don't waste your time...

Ordered to-go so I could eat in my room. Food came out in about 20 minutes which was fine, and it wasn't the worst meal I've ever had but it certainly wasn't high-quality. $40 for a crispy half chicken with asparagus and potatoes and side salad. Side salad was very boring, asparagus and potatoes were over-steamed and not at all seasoned, and I'm pretty sure the chicken was rotisserie that was then deep-fried for crispiness - very over-cooked and the breast meat was...
