As someone with 10 years of food service experience it hurts me to have to be this critical but this experience was absolutely unacceptable. This was my first time back in 2 years and the first time under the new ownership. It was myself and my mother and we got seated right at opening. With few other tables in the restaurant it took well over 10 minutes just to get one basic mixed drink and a soda. The main attraction for us here was the haystack onion rings. They came out overcooked and flavorless. When we told our server of our dissatisfaction with them she laughed and asked if we were joking. Following the onion rings we waited for more than 45 minutes and multiple other tables sat after we were getting their food before finally getting our meals. My mother asked for an additional ramekin of tarter sauce and was told it would be an additional 50 cents per cup. The dinner was also served with potato salad and beans. The beans came in a normal sized bowl to share however the potato salad was something you couldnt even call a portion. It was 2 pieces of potato in a small ramekin. Needless to say this was beyond disappointing. I dont think we'll be back.

Donny’s Girl in Pipersville (GPS will say Watertown) has a simple, quiet atmosphere. Old Fashions were ok (not bad, but we’ve had better). The relish tray was good. Appetizers were amazing (we had stuffed mushrooms, cheese curds, and popcorn shrimp). Onto the main food.. the filets were phenomenal. Perfectly cooked. The baked walleye is well worth it and highly recommended. The salmon was really salty and so was the rice. Was a little disappointed with that. We had two soup options: french onion (too salty) and lasagna (tasted like a soupy spaghetti- which was awesome). I’ll definitely come back for the steak, but the seafood is hit or miss. šŸ’ā€ā™€ļø

Classic foods done right. Quality is superb price is very reasonable. Go in, have a drink, in the privacy of your party or ventuee out and make some new friends, before having dinner in a vintage setting. I do a lot of travel with work and this is a place that I really miss being away. It's a local place you can walk into an "out of towner" and leave a "local yocal". Give it a try, definitely worth the adventure.

We walked in the door and waited for the "hostess/owner" to get off her phone and seat us. Took 10 minutes for the waitress to come take our drink order. By then we were also ready to order our food. The waitress took our order right away and then said she'd be back with our drinks (2 sodas) and bring out our sides. We waited another 15 minutes for that. Then 5 minutes later our food came. Didn't have time to finish the sides first. My husband and I both ordered the perch. It was barely warmer than room temperature. The waitress never came back once to ask how anything was. I had run out of tartar sauce, which we had to share from a plastic ketchup bottle, and my husband ran out of soda to drink. When the waitress finally did come over to our table, I asked her for more tartar sauce. She said she'd go fill up the bottle and come right back. Instead she went to take care of some other people who were leaving. I got up and got another bottle myself from a table that was empty only a foot away. The waitress could've turned around and grabbed the bottle in the first place. When she finally did come back with the bottle (another 10 minutes later), I was finished eating. We weren't informed that what we ordered was not an "all u can eat" fish fry, and we weren't offered any dessert. By this time my husband and I both were mad and had to restrain ourselves as not to cause a scene. I got up from the table, put my coat on, and walked over to the "hostess" to ask her to fetch our waitress to get our bill. As my husband was paying our bill, I explained to the owner what had happened. All we got was an "I'm sorry" and she was shocked to hear that about her best server. If Nicki is her best server, I don't think we'll be making another visit. By the way my husband had gotten a bone from the fish stuck in his gums, and was bleeding until we got home to get it out. $14.95 for 3 small pcs. of fish, a potato, tiny bowls of coleslaw and potato salad, and some rye bread. Little too expensive for what you would get anywhere else. This was my first and last time here. My husband warned me about it and tried it anyway, hoping after 20years that it'd changed. Apparently it got worse and more expensive. This is the first time I have ever gotten up from the table before we received the bill. I don't normally like giving negative reviews, but this one earned it, and well deserved it. The details were...

UPDATED REVIEW, 9/8/2022: My wife and I ate here about three years ago and found the food to be less than desirable… see original review below. Anyhow, a few weeks ago we decided to try them out again. We spent almost an hour at the bar waiting for a table and I was getting a really good feeling that this visit was going to be better than the previous visit 3 years ago. The bartender was amazing, friendly and made some awesome drinks! The blue cheese olives are to die for! I bought a jar to take home and I really need to go back again to buy more olives! And if I wasn’t already happily married, I would’ve ask the bartender to be my wife… LOL. However, I think I will just sit at the bar and have a couple drinks next time (with my wife of course… I don’t want to get into trouble…LOL). But I will go eat somewhere else. Again… the food was just not that good. My wife had a rib eye steak and she said it just didn’t taste right, and I completely understand considering I ordered the prime rib and it was just awful! Somebody really got carried away with the thyme… and yes, I did ask for rare, but the prime rib came out almost raw! Seriously, I have never complained about beef being ā€œundercookedā€ … LOL. And both my wife and I were sick with diarrhea about half way through the night after eating here… I’m going to make an assumption here and call it a sanitary issue??? But anyway… the bartender (my future wife should the love of my life ever leave me… LOL), I can’t remember her name, she was an amazing bartender and those hand stuffed blue cheese olives they make are also amazing! I’ll leave the review as 2 stars just because of the bartender and the olives… both were amazing. However, I’m just not going to eat their again.

Original 2 star review from about three years ago: Steaks were horrible, they tasted as if they had been frozen, thawed and then re-frozen again prior to thawing them to be cooked. Irish potatoes were delicious! Salad bar was decent. Service was inattentive. But the fish and chicken looked good at the table next to us... and damn the potatoes really were good! ... so I’ll give 2 stars... but please trust me, don’t...

We are avid ā€œSupper Clubā€ diners. We looked through our supper club book for some place new…. WOW our choice of Donny’s Girl II Supper Club was a FANTASTIC choice! We arrived early Sunday to have a drink in the bar - we were greeted like family when we walked in (little did we know it was Fred, The Chef and Jen The Manager/Bartender!!

We had great conversation with Jen at the bar regarding the restaurant and its history along with travel and the area. She thoughtfully brought us to our table for dinner and introduced us to our server, Kim.

Again, had wonderful service and conversation with Kim. She was attentive, friendly and just all around a great server. After we raved about the fresh and wonderful salad bar, the amazing meal (I had the 16oz Prime Rib special and my husband had the Duck)

The food was so flavorful, hot and there was A LOT of it. Your dinner includes soup, salad bar, bread and your meal with veggie and a potato choice! It was more food than we could eat but happily brought home leftovers! My husband loved the pea soup so much he brought more home!

Kim let Chef Fred know how much we were enjoying our meal that he came out to say hello and we were able to tell him personally how much we enjoyed the food and service.

The ambiance is quaint and an ā€œold schoolā€ Wisconsin bar/Supper Club - just how we like it!

We can will be back to enjoy another meal soon. We are thankful for the hard work, dedication and friendliness of this great...
