The Sand Bar — Restaurant in Town of Jackson

This was our first experience eating here, and it definitely will be the last. I ordered the supposed homemade chicken tenders off the appetizer menu. They were just breaded with some light flour and absolutely no seasoning and no taste whatsoever. Better tenders From Wayne’s !! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich, which he thought was OK. He got onion rings with it, which were also tasteless. I had one of the onion rings and when I bit into it, all I tasted was flour. We were hoping for pizza, but the pizza oven was down. Our server never checked back on us and someone else asked how our food was. I told them it was just OK and I got a funny look and she just walked away. I saw her talking to our server right away, obviously telling her what we said. When our server came to the table and brought our bill, she never even asked us how anything was or even acknowledged that there was something wrong. I have been a server for over 30 years and this is probably one of the worst...

The manager met us at the door and was anything but welcoming. We were a party of 4 adults and he wanted us to go sit at a table with a family that was already seated. When we declined he said the only other option was the bar. We said we would wait for a table at which point he told us it would be an hour wait. At one point two ladies that were seated at a table for 4 offered to move to the bar and he told them they couldn't because they had ordered food already and it would be too confusing for the server??? Three of the four of us are general managers for very busy restaurants. I can't imagine EVER treating a guest this way. We were so excited to be there as we heard how good the food was. Unfortunately your manager set the tone for our visit and left us all feeling unwelcomed and bummed out. Turns out it just wasn't worth the half hour drive there to be treated so poorly. Food was great, but we thought it was very rude that the waitress actually followed us out the door demanding a tip...we were trying to get elderly lady to the car, who need assistance, so absent mi ndly totally forgot about the tip, which we all thought someone in our group had left on the table...but to have your waitress chase us down was rude and beyond ridiculous...as the damn meal cost $84 for 4 of us to begin with..and we even had to hunt down our own ketchup...next time if we go back...she won't get a tip...she has no respect or manners....did not catch her name...we didn't see much of her, but we were there somewhere in between 4:00 and 6:00... she had glasses and was wearing a black shark t-shirt...tips are a priviledge...not a right...and are based on service we...
